Good do with a revamp
Not impressed with bathroom, first day found hairs on the floor, 2nd day on return to room left with no towels.
went to bar mentioned to member of staff but only given bath towels no hand towels. Had asked for quiet room but the room was on the main road with the street. Street light attached to the building just above our room not ideal!. Would I go back again not a chance have had better stays in budget hotels!!!
We had an excellent stay at Qudos.
They very kindly upgraded us to their suite, which was lovely. We has a massive bed and lovely sitting room.
The only downside was the jacuzzi bath was not working and on leaving there was no one to tell. We would stay there again though.
Where not to stay
Music went on till after midnight.
Could hear talking from the bar area. The bed was uncomfortable, the cushions appeared to be dirty. The carpet was covered in stains, the side of the bath was damaged. We booked breakfast on your site, only to be told on arrival (15:00) we need to say what we want and at what time. There was no staff on duty during the night, we were told to use the emergency exit when we left.
Great "loft-style" hotel room that makes you want to live in it
As soon as we entered the hotel we were welcomed in a kind, funny and charming way.
The room we had felt great from the very first second on. We would have loved to stay much longer because we felt home right away and still had that nice "sleeping in a hotel" feeling.
All in all the perfect hotel room.
My room was unfortunately above the bar which can be noisy till the small hours.
Otherwise the hotel and bar are great and central to Salisbury. Maybe just unlucky with the room.
Amazing food. The live music was excellent. Would only improve on the attention to detail things. Like the cups being the same size in the room. Perhaps a biscuit. And unprocessed bread for breakfast. But I am being picky.
Good Value Comfortable and Central
This is a restaurant and bar with rooms.
It is an older building that has been renovated to a high standard. The room was big with a comfortable double bed and a large bathroom with a good shower. My only minor issue was that the lighting in the room was not very bright - but I could have asked for another lamp and did not - so my fault really. Situated in the centre of Salisbury it is ideally situated for enjoying a lovely town.
I ate twice in the restaurant and the food was good and very good value. This is a live music venue. I enjoyed the music while I was there and regarded it as a plus. The sound did nit bother me in bed - but I could see that if you wanted to be asleep at then it might be an issue. The hotel is very open about this on its web site.
Shabby not chic
Initial feeling was good, place looked tidy, quick and easy check in by a pleasant girl.
Bit of a hike to the top floor so not good for less able as no lifts in the place, the room (22) initially looked fine, decent size, huge bed & fairly tasteful decor. The room was cold on arrival, I fiddled with the heating but to no avail, it did however come on some point later in the evening... When I didn't want it. The bathroom had a really tatty toilet seat, wood effect which was well bulged when I lifted it, presumably well soaked with pee. It really needs replacing, the fan did not work, the shaving mirror did not work & was hanging off of its fixings at an angle. The tiles were in a really poor state in the shower (the grouting was black)..... If you could call it a shower, it was barely a mist with temperamental temprature controls, the fixing was broken so it remained at chest hight, I fail to see how this is anywhere near a 4 star place, the toiletries were odourless & cheap & there wasn't even a biscuit to dunk in your coffee. I stay in Salisbury hotels frequently, this was amongst the worst, possibly given a bad room as I booked through laterooms, if I had have paid the full price I would have complained. On a plus side the bed was clean, shame the pillows were tiny and wafer thin. I never leave bad reviews but in this case I think the management ought to spend a few quid getting these potentially nice rooms up to standard.
