Heaven in Devizes

Belinda Carlisle sang that heaven is a place on Earth and I believe that we found it at Avalon Lodge.

This bed and breakfast is an absolutely incredible find. The highlight for me was the superb cooked breakfast. If however you are less stomachly oriented the rooms are beautiful, the beds comfortable and the towels divine. The owners are incredible: friendly and knowledgeable about, seemingly, all local attractions. After a desperate effort to come up with something remotely negative to say, simply to make the review more believable, all I can think to say is that the front door opens very close to the stairs. I strongly suggests staying here if you are anywhere in the vicinity.

Lovely and welcoming B and B!

My teenage son and I stayed for a couple of nights.

The Hosts were very friendly, nothing appeared to be too much trouble. Very knowledgeable about the local area, we took their advice on local pubs and they were great. We asked for veggie breakfast and it was amazing, also had the added bonus of 'fake' bacon. So glad we found this peaceful oasis in the middle of beautiful countryside. A great base for exploring Wiltshire.

Great value, great service

Really nice house, good room with balcony, fresh fruit in room and offer of drink on arrival, excellent!.

Breakfast really good, only one downside that was breakfast time, 7 to 8 on a Sunday morning?

Our stay was very enjoyable from arrival met with tea, coffee and biscuits and charming hosts

The location of Embrea just outside the town is perfect for walking in the vast open spaces with some exciting attractions in the area including the Caan Hill lock one of the 'Wonders of the Waterways' on the Kennet & Avon Canal which did not disappoint.

Overall we found everything to our satisfaction

The perfect B&B

A true home from home.

I would recommend it to anyone and perfectly situated to visit the attractions that the area has to offer.
