About the hotel
Built in the 18th Century and surrounded by the beautiful forests & woods of Wimborne the Horton Inn is the chance to take a step back in history & revel in the majestic traditional English surroundings. The Inn is described as ‘the rendezvous of many a daring poacher for operations in the adjoining forest’ by Thomas Hardy, and we have an open fire & cosy bar with excellent quality food. A full refurbishment of the bar & restaurant areas was completed in 2015 which has given this Victorian style coaching inn a new lease of life.
If you are too tired to travel on you can make the most of our great hotel accommodation with several en- suite rooms making the Horton Inn perfect for that well deserved rest.

The Horton Inn looks quite impressive from the outside but a little disappointing on the inside.
The décor was like stepping back in time and needed a total refurbishment. Quite shabby and untidy in places. The good points were the beds and linen were comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and polite.
Bathroom a bit grim.
Place a bit shabby. Breakfast options very limited. Staff really pleasant but this place needs total overhaul. And it wasn't cheap.
