About the hotel

The Bull Hotel is situated along one side of Fairford's famous market square. Much of the building is dated around the 15th Century when it used to be a Monk's chanting house. During recent improvements, a secret tunnel was discovered from the hotel to the 500 year old St Mary's Church.

Its close proximity to Swindon, Cirencester, Cheltenham and Gloucester, makes it ideal not only for holiday visitors and fishermen, but to businessmen who wish to get away from the standard system-built model-type of accommodation, allowing all our guests to relax in surroundings which have the charm and warmth of an ancient Cotswold Inn. The hotel offers a choice of 22 bedrooms. Each room has its own particular character with sloping roofs and oak beams. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and are well equipped. Plenty of parking for guests. Small charge for pets. Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2013 - Fairford is also the home to the Royal International Air Tattoo which makes the Bull Hotel ideal for the plane enthusiast - we offfer a four day package from 18th July to 22nd July - please call the hotel for details

Misleading Pictures

The room in the picture looked lovely, unfortunately this was not the room I was given.

Thought the 50% off bargain I'd secured was too good to be true. It was.

Very small room for a double (fine for me travelling on my own, would have tripped over each other had I been with someone else). Tired, dated, in need of decoration, cobwebs hanging from the high ceiling, unsightly damage in the bathroom that could easily be repaired. Rain falling on the flat roof outside all night kept me awake, could do with some guttering. Not what I thought I was turning up to, given the pictures. Lovely bar area with open fires, good food and friendly staff. I would definitely eat here again but not stay over.

Awful and dirty. Looks nothing like the pictures.

Firstly, I'd like to say that I never write reviews and rarely complain about accommodation but my stay at The Bull Hotel really annoyed me.

The original room that we checked into looked ok but it hadn't been cleaned. The bed wasn't made, the toilets hadn't been flushed and there were wet dirty towels on the floor. It's quite clear that it hadn't been cleaned since the last person checked out.

We were given another room which was disgusting. Me and my girlfriend didn't want to walk on the carpet because it looked so dirty so we wore our shoes at all times. There were bread crumbs next to my side of the bed and grey/white hairs next to my girlfriends. Gross. The toilet made an awful noise plus the floors weren't even which meant the bed sloped to one side. An awful, dirty, uncomfortable stay which looks nothing like the pictures. I feel bad for writing such a bad review but like I said, I never complain but this time I felt compelled to review this hotel as I feel as though I was deceived by the photos on website. The breakfast was OK and the kitchen staff were nice.
