About the hotel
Welcome to Lantern House, a beautiful Victorian townhouse in the heart of Hardy country. Lantern House is situated in the historic county town of Dorchester. The house overlooks the beautiful Borough Gardens and is 5 minutes walk from the centre of town giving easy access to shops, restaurants, cinema and museums.
An excellent breakfast is included in your stay of course and we are delighted to offer you a choice of a Full English or Continental Breakfast. We moved to Dorchester just over ten years ago, having had many holidays in Dorset. It is a superb county for beauty of its countryside alone and there is so much more to explore.

Lantern House B&B
Had a lovely stay at this b&b.
Great room with seating area and wonderfully hosted by the owners sister Jackie.
Excellent B&B in Dorchester
The Lantern House was a great find, offering high quality accommodation in a period house with large rooms.
The hosts were both very welcoming and friendly and offered advice on where to eat in the evening. The pleasure of being waited on at breakfast was made extra special by the addition of home made bread. My only minor disappointment was not having a desk in the room, as I needed to work in the evening, but it's not that important and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
