Lovely hotel in town centre
Really lovely building.
Not the biggest room, but very nicely decorated with a lovely bathroom and very comfy bed. Staff were all very nice and helpful, couldn't fault it really. Breakfast had a good choice and used good ingredients. The cooked breakfast could have been a little better, one chipolata and an one over cooked rasher of bacon, but generally very tasty. Nice granola and fresh Orange juice.
An amazing find!
We needed to stay in Bath for one night, to settle our son at Uni for the beginning of Fresher's week - having left booking somewhere to stay rather late, all of Bath was fully booked.
Then we came across The Methuen Arms, a fabulous establishment in a beautiful village. The room was really comfortable with a lovely en-suite, a very comfortable bed and the most luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linen. From the time we arrived, the concierge was friendly and helpful. He even managed to squeeze us into the restaurant for an evening meal, which was exquisite. The breakfast too was wonderful - we couldn't have asked for more. As our son has just started a 4 year Maths course at Bath University, we will have the opportunity to return - and we will. This is a gem of a place, thank you.
