About the hotel

Baths most beautifully located hotel, set on the banks of the River Avon with lovely gardens and stunning views over the surrounding country side. The Old Mill Hotel and Lodge is located on a site that housed a flour mill until 1907. Since then it has been developed into an attractive hotel with lovely bedrooms, all en suite, banqueting suites, bar, lounge and an exquisite restaurant by the river with a unique waterwheel feature.

The bar, lounge and banqueting suites all fully air conditioned makes this the perfect place to stay whilst visiting the historic city of Bath and yet far enough and close enough to capture the real spirit of the country side and surrounding area. Whether it be a romantic get away, a social gathering or business trip The Old Mill with its tranquil setting is the ideal resting place after a busy day either site seeing, shopping or business meeting. Please note that the hotel has no lift and due to the nature of the building may not be suitable for some disabled people.

Very happy with our stay

My husband and I booked the hotel for our first anniversary.

The room was pleasant and clean. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our sat nav didn't take us to the hotel however it was next to the toll bridge which did make access a little difficult on time when some drivers blocked up the access. Our only complaint was the tv would not keep the signal so when we wanted to have a glass of wine and a quite night in,the TV was not an option. Breakfast was lovely, well cooked and very nice. We would definately stay again at the hotel, there were pleasant walks along the canal and we were only a 10 minute drive from Bath city centre.

Cheap rate does not excuse poor accommodation!

The Old Mill is in a beautiful location.

Bath was our home for many years and so we had good memories of the place. However, we had a room in the 'lodge' which are basically stacked portocabins that would at one time have been staff accommodation. The quality of the rooms was very poor. We found a previous occupants underwear on the floor - hard to miss as there was literally no space in the room around the bed. We couldn't put the overnight case anywhere and had to keep it in the wardrobe. The heating was on a time which couldn't be changed - freezing when we arrived but came on in the early hours to 31 degrees and couldn't be switched off. We fried until we got up and could open the door. No plug in the bathroom sink and the shower water didn't empty away. We asked to be moved but the hotel was full and when we mentioned the accommodation were told that's why it was such a cheap rate. We had a drink in the bar but didn't eat in the hotel. The menu did look promising though. We ate over the road which was great. The breakfast in the hotel the following morning was the usual buffet style and was fine. We were told that the hotel is being refurbished and I hope they demolish the 'lodge' before it does any more damage to their reputation.
