Not quite what we were expecting from a spa hotel.
Carpets need cleaning/replacing more tea/coffee in room and over priced when you can stay at the grand in Brighton for Same money.
This should be a great place to stay.
I would say that it is good for overnight business trips or wedding parties but stay longer and even the helpful but overworked staff cannot make this a four star hotel.
The food was good but the early menu hardly changed over five nights. The a la carte menu was expensive. Charging £1 for water at table and £4.50 for bread was discouraging. Our first room was grimy and dark (designer yellow walls and lights) with old furniture and condensation (sloping floor accepted). Our second room was better, after all lights were made to work and the cigarette packet removed from the non-smoking room. At £109 per night I expect the staff, not the customer, to find the faults but I guess with so few staff only so much can be done.
Beautiful relaxing night, just needs a jacuzzi
Lovely hotel with friendly efficient staff. Our room was beatifully furnished in period style, with roll top bath.Lots of wooden panelling in hotel giving it a stately home feel.Beautiful garden and cosy bar to have an evening tipple.Free parking.Good breakfast.
An excellent stay, handy for visiting places in the area.
Having the use of the swimming pool was a bonus. We were pleased to see a copy of the Gideon Bible in the room for use of guests.
Most enjoyable stay
We only stayed for one night but would have most definitely liked to have stayed longer.
Room too small and stuffy
I think we had the last room - late booking but it was an attic room that was very warm - even with windows open - decor looked at a bit tired and I hit my leg several times on the chabby chic bed end - too big probably for the size of room.
Bed was not very comfortable and the bed sheets had holes in them. This was our anniversary trip and did nothing to enhance our enjoyment of the time. Also we were not informed of dinner booking so had to find somewhere to eat at 7.30 on a Friday night. Perhaps need to just stick to the bigger hotel chains for room quality, restaurant service and good choice in breakfasts.
Great midweek relaxing break
Lovely Hotel and location
Lovely, friendly hotel set in a lovely village with two nice pubs.
Pool and sauna were great, although both on small side but area around was spotless. Room was clean and comfortable, and lovely cotton sheets. Room was very warm but there was a fan which was very useful.
