Cannot fault our stay. Arrived late due to traffic and the staff were extremely helpful, even making sure we had something to eat. Accommodation spotless and comfortable. Food was to die for, best meal I've had for a long time.

Outstanding Food
The thing that stands out about our stay was the food. It was excellent! Beautifully presented, a taste sensation. The accommodation was pleasantly decorated but more attention is required to cleanliness. I would definitely recommend the Restaurent but the accommodation was average.

our long weekend
we booked the Crown and Punchbowl as we have stayed there before and were thoroughly impressed.
it is ideally located for people wanting to see Cambridge without the hassle of driving through the town itself to locate other accommodation. The Michelin listed restaurant does indeed serve wonderful food as to whether it's too expensive i'll leave it for the individual to decide, the only drawback is that it's closed on Sundays. The rooms were clean and well appointed, we were particularly fond of the kingsize bed and the quality of the duvet, pillows and linen.

Stayed a couple of nights for the Rock Festival
Having decided at the eleventh hour to journey up from London to attend the Cambridge Rock Festival, I researched places to stay for a couple of nights. This restaurant (ex-pub) come guest house should have been out of contention (situated, as it is, a little outside and on the wrong side of the city for the festival in Barton). Thing is that I just didn't like the look/prices or reviews for the larger, chain hotels in the city. Despite the increased minicab fares I think that I made the right choice! Excellent all round and a real character guest house. Only shame was that I didn't get the opportunity to dine there but the breakfasts were excellent. Size and standard of room and bathroom were superior to other far more expensive hotels I've stayed in. Beautifully quiet village setting - best night's sleep I've had in ages. Friendly and efficient service and reasonably priced too taking into consideration the area and competition. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
