Bright clean room.
Good mattress. Breakfast ok
We didn't hava a chance to try breakfast because on sunday they start serve brekfast form 9.00 which I think is quiet late.
Reasonable time would be at 8.00. We stay ther only because because at 9.00 we had a competition in one of the clubs but unfortunately we had to leave hotel without brakfast.
Few parking spaces for a lot of rooms.
Cold but radiator not even Luke warm. Piece of floor tile missing from toilet and some enamel off th bath. All soap was I a dispenser, no glasses. Breakfast coffee was Nescafé sachets and the water urn had not boiled. Choice of cereal was poor and one toaster was there to provide for all the guests. Then bed was clean, water hot and the TV worked. However, overall this place was poor.
Family friendly hotel
We stayed at Oaklands for one night in a family room, it was clean, tidy and at the quieter end of the hotel (downstairs is a lively bar).
We all had a very comfortable nights sleep and had a lovely breakfast in the morning and nothing was too much trouble for the staff to accommodate our fussy six year old daughter at breakfast. Would recommend to family and friends.
very comfortable, very helpful staff
The music was quite loud but I did expect it on a Friday night
Good value bed and breakfast.
Staff were always friendly and had a smile to give.
Room was basic but clean and tidy with coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good value with cereal, toast and cooked breakfast. Being on holiday, I would have liked breakfast to go on until 9:30 am as we had a couple of late nights and not much of a long lie. It is a shame that there is no parking for this hotel but free parking is available nearby beside the police station. My son and I used this hotel as a base to see family and visit nearby areas. As we stayed during the week it was very quiet and was most enjoyable. Thank you.
There was no one to greet us,the accommodation was adequate as was the breakfast BUT we couldn't sleep, I know it is a hotel with a disco, but the noise from the disco was almost as if we were at the disco.
On Friday night it stopped at 11.40pm and on Saturday it stopped at 12.40pm but obviously the doors were closed and everything was carrying on as there were loud bangings on the front door practically all night so none of us got much sleep even with the windows closed (on a hot night). The whole experience was awful except for the breakfast where the staff were very pleasant. I would suggest that somewhere in the advertising it should mention this and there should be an opportunity on LateRooms to book a room on the other side of the hotel.
Nice, comfortable room
Friendly staff, clean comfortable room, value for money.
The Oakland Hotel
Did what it's says, clean, cheap.
Night disco till 2 could be a issue with young kids. Helpful staff.
