Hatch Beauchamp, , , Taunton, TA3 6SG
Farthings, a Country House hotel, is an elegant Georgian hotel situated in the heart of the Somerset countryside in the historic village of Hatch Beauchamp. Set in extensive gardens of approximately 3 acres, it enjoys an enviable reputation for the hospitality and comfort it provides for its guests. There are few hotels better situated for touring this area. The Farthings comprises beautiful grounds & gardens sporting orchards, roses and our own poultry for your breakfast eggs. Just a few miles from Taunton, the county town of Somerset, Farthings Hotel is ideally situated for most of the local attractions. Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor, Bath and Exeter are all within easy reach. Cheddar Gorge, with its famous caves, Wookey Hole and the rolling hills of the Mendips are just on the doorstep and both North and South coasts of Devon and Somerset are only 30 minutes drive away. Farthings is also central for exploring many National Trust properties; Barrington Court, Hestercombe House and Gardens, Clapton Court, Forde Abbey and Gardens, Montacute House and East Lambrook Manor. Farthings Hotel has 10 spacious ensuite rooms decorated to the highest standard, including a suite which has a separate lounge, kitchen and conservatory. All of our rooms are spaciously appointed and have wonderful views. Your rest will be undisturbed! Imagine…looking out through the large bay window of the restaurant, one can see the extensive gardens of this Georgian Hotel and Restaurant where, in the Summertime, amidst the variety of shrubbery and flowers and fruit trees lining the walls, you will be able to eat ‘al-fresco’. Inside, as you might expect, a traditional country house welcomes you and all guests where the atmosphere is both relaxing and attentive. Our produce is locally sourced. The Hotel provides a home-from-home. A tranquil place to relax and unwind. We have a comfortable lounge, a crackling fire, a well stocked bar and three elegant dining rooms. Enjoy!

one night stay
I originally bought a Woucher to stay 3 nights at the a Farthings, it included breakfast. It was clear that although the hotel had available rooms, their booking system (only via email) told me to get a refund as there was no rooms for November and December. It took numerous emails to establish these facts. So my brother and his wife, and me booked through Late Rooms, same price although breakfast wasn't included. I stayed there a number of years ago and was given the same room. It was lovely, roomy and cosy. Two significant problems, the mattress was hard and unforgiving with springs that protruded. The shower was very poor, took ages to rinse my hair. There appeared to be one couple having breakfast, and it was very quiet. We have family in the area and require accommodation fairly regularly. Do to a poor nights sleep, (due to bed) not sure I can stay there again.
