Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Light and airy dining room with views out to sea. Discreet service and good food. Hotel in a quiet residential area within easy walking distance of central Paignton, mainline train and steam train (to Kingswear).
Great stay , lovely people , great breakfast thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very warm welcome by owner, who showed me to my room.
The room was very clean, if a little small. the meal that evening was very ggod quality and well presented, as was breakfast the next morning. On my second night on returning to the hotel I fell asleep and was too late for my evening meal which was disappointing as I wanted to repeat the previous nights food experience. The moral is to let them know if you want to eat as the chef finsihes quite early. Will stay again when in the area.
Definitely not Fawlty Towers
From arrival to departure I could not have found a more accommodating and welcoming owner and staff.
My room, although not having a great view, was clean, comfortable, almost cosy with flat screen TV, kettle and tea/coffee facilities, soft towels and proper toilet paper. I ate breakfast each morning, full English day 1 and boiled eggs day 2 because the Full English kept me going all day and I was lunching out on day 2. The food was freshly cooked, hot, well presented, great quantity and very tasty. The sausages, my yardstick for a proper breakfast, were succulent and the fried eggs perfect for dipping with the fried bread.
