Spa fans

Reception, relaxation room and hydropool were very classy.

The surroundings beautiful. Very friendly staff. The indoor pool area was quite small and taken up by day guests. The loungers were quite shabby. The room was of a basic standard and not what I would class as a luxury suite, as advertised. Although the bed was huge it wasn't very comfortable, The sofas in the treatment waiting area were ripped and there was no juice bar, green tea available. I would go again if the rooms were brought up to standard, carpets would be good as the laminate flooring creeked. Unfortunately we had an interconnecting room and could hear the neighbours moving about and talking. This sounds like a very negative review, however if certain areas were brought up to the standard of the main building it would be a very competitive establishment. I have ticked yes to whether I would stay again and recommend on the condition of the room upgrades .

Beautiful spa break

After looking for weeks for the most perfect spa for our week off work I finally found this place.

It was just beautiful, all rooms are 5* suites with a hot tub outside to use at evenings, indoor spa, outdoor heated pool with log burner and quiet seating area. Everything and anything you need staff are on hand to sort out. So chilled and peaceful. However the restaurant can be used by people who are not staying at the hotel which wasn't a problem for us but after looking at review myself it's not a place for children, people are paying £250 per night to relax they don't want other peoples screaming kids there. I just can't wait to go back!

mega expensive bed and breakfast

We stayed overnight for a wedding at what should have been an, apparently discounted, rate of £145 per person per night (£290 for a couple).

We actually paid £200 through a price comparison website prior to the rooms being removed from such sites for our particular date. We found this to be mega expensive for essentially bed and breakfast. Admittedly we could have had use of the spa facilities but we booked for a wedding not a spa package, so we only required a room and breakfast. The room itself was ok, but no better than that of any well known hotel chains quality; the bathroom door only shut when it was locked and the toilet leaked during our stay. Although these are only minor issues in themselves, we didn't expect ANY issues for the price paid. Sadly we didn't think it was good value for a wedding stay the prices charged. As for a spa package, we don't know whether it's value or not.

Its the little things...

I really thought the hotel was lovely and food was really good as I did not really fancy what was on the menu so they made me what I wanted which was ace.

I have too issues, the room was boiling and there was no means of turning it down. The bathroom towel rail was on full blast the whole time even though I turned it off, made it very uncomfortable to be in. Also I asked reception if they had a needle and thread and receptionist looked at me as if I was an alien..."sorry we don't do anything like that here".... was not expecting to have been looked at so sharply and dismissed as if I was asking for something that i would expect would be standard in most hotels. Only final thing is gym did not open until 7am, considering no one is in there supervising the gym it would have been handy to open it at 6.30am at least as working business people usually get up earlier to use the gym.

Would definitely recommend!!

My boyfriend and I were heading to Alton Towers for his birthday and wanted to stay at a spa hotel the night before.

This hotel was everything we were looking for; excellent facilities for a relaxing stay, fantastic customer service, and delicious food.

Found a Diamond

From the second we checked in to the moment we left we had an amazing time, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful secluded location and great rooms.

Relaxed in the outdoor heated spa drinking champagne on the evening, loaned a couple of cycles for a morning ride before we ate breakfast outside overlooking the beautiful gardens and lake. Only wish we had more time to appreciate the range of facilities available. A diamond of a place we will certainly go out of our way to visit again.

Relaxing, quality experience

What a lovely place, a comprehensive tour and explanation of facilities given.

Great suite and spa facilities. Inclusive breakfast good quality. Used on sit restaurant - it was great, really delicious meal. Renovations were taking place for spa extension, didn't impact stay at all. Even the builders had a friendly hello if you passed them. Will go again for sure.
