From check in to departure every aspect was first class.
Attentive staff without being in your face.Good atmosphere about the place. No hesitation in returning.
Gorgeous hotel 5* quality
Hotel is set on a stunnning golf course with views of the sea and st andrews in the distance.
Just over a mile away from center but very easy to drive to and hotel more than happy to organise taxis for you. Hotel itself is massive and wonderfully finished inside the lobby is very grand and welcoming. Staff couldnt be more helful and both services and room are fantastic as you would expect for star rating.
Night at the fairmont
I was sorely disappointed with my night at the fairmont.
Although we had a room upgrade (which I would normally be very pleased with) the room was rather average, despite the splendid view over the sea. This hotel is really rather dated and in a huge help tel complex which is completely devoid of character and has that very American, totally characterless disney style. I am vegan which I had stated both at the time of booking and upon arrival which meant there was very little for me to eat at the breakfast buffet (nor were the kitchen staff particularly accommodating on this front) although my husband said he had a marvelous breakfast (breakfast very good if you are a meat eater but I would expect and awful lot more in this day and age from a 5* hotel who should be able to cater for vegans.) incredibly disappointed with the stay. Most of the staff we had contact with seemed kind and helpful, but the next get we arrived there were lots of complaint at the (small) bar about lost orders and overpriced drinks. Piped music everywhere which we found very bad taste. I would NOT recommend this hotel. It felt like a travel lodge and was massively understaffed. Staying on a Friday night, you pay a premium and I was made to feel that substandard service at the weekend was understandable, if not, unavoidable. I shall not recommend this hotel, nor company to anyone.
Very good experience.
I stay in hotels around UK and Europe most weeks on business.
Although this stay was for leisure, it ranked very high in both customer service and standards.
The only slightly disappointing comment was my food was average at La Cucina. However, my partners was excellent and so was the customer service in the restaurant.
Beautiful hotel with amazing views
Booked 2 nights here for a winter get away and had a great time.
Hotel is beautiful and in a great location . St Andrews is a lovely place to visit with some great places to eat and drink. The doormen made the break extra special-so friendly and helpful and good fun. The reception staff were also very helpful and professional. Rooms very clean with extra comfy beds. Lots of choice at the buffet breakfast (too much really !) but the cooked breakfast food was not very hot. Would recommend and will definitely stay again.
Five star Fairmont. Couldn't fault it.
Great hotel, great service and brilliant food.
Have stayed twice before but this was best deal as we got a sea view room for a lot less than we would have via the hotel website. But better still, all the meals were great and the service from everyone we dealt with was great.
We stayed for a weekend and were impressed from the moment we arrived at the front door.
The porters greeting guests made us feel instantly welcome and couldn't do enough for us. When checking in th reception staff were just the same. The hotel facilities were lovely (though I understand they are in the process of being renovated. The spa was great as well - a lovely place to relax.
We had an evening meal at La Cucina, their Italian restaurant. Here the food and service was again second to none.
Faimont St Andrews
Love this hotel, stunning location and wonderful staff.
Breakfast was the best I've had yet and loved that it was serve until 11 o'clock. Had a wonderful time in the spa and treatments were fantastic. No slippers were provided but a quick call to housekeeping sorted this and they were sent up immediately. Some of the textiles in the room were slightly tatty for 5 star i.e cloth under glass on dressing table was torn and shredded but otherwise a very nice room. Would have preferred one large bed as opposed to 2 double beds but this wasn't an option. We ate at the fish and seafood restaurant which was right on the water and a shuttle bus was provided to and from promptly.
Loved the Fairmount, we'll be back!
Loved the hotel for a weekend break to celebrate a birthday.
Great location, fantastic staff and a super room which had stunning views across the coast and golf course. Very child friendly too. The staff were fantastic with our wee boy so he had a ball.
