Good quality & convenient
Well equipped compact room which was clean and comfortable.
Lifts to all floors. Tea, coffee, biscuits in room. Near to university and interesting green spaces Alan Turin memorial close by.
The hotel was perfect for what we needed.
All the staff, without exception, were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The evening meal we had in the Garden Bar was delicious and again the waiting staff couldn't have been better. I will definitely go back again if I'm going to Manchester.
Dark but comfortable room
The room was very dark with only a tiny window (on to a public courtyard).
Was dark even in July and I wonder what it would be like in Autumn / Winter. However, comfortable and well located for Manchester Piccadilly station. Did not have the student noise that others have mentioned but the other guests were noisy. Would recommend but with caveats
Great stay.Customer service was excellent.
Small room but did the job. Yummy breakfast...best iv had in a hotel in a long time.
'Our standard size is compact....'
So, the room was tiny.
Like, really small. It looked like it should have been a single and they'd just put a double in there. And when I say double, I mean only a double, no bigger bed that hotels normally have. We were literally tripping up over each other in there. The decor was ok, apart from the lighting, which wouldn't have been an issue had we not been at floor level......with people walking past......and no net up..... literally felt like we were sharing our room with the street. We went to reception to say it was small, only to be told 'our standard room is actually a compact, the normal size is our classic double', so why not list the compact as a compact and the 'classic; as a standard?. Oh yeah, cos then no-one would stay in them. The bathroom was also small, the shower was a double which was good but no bath. We had breakfast in the morning, most of it was only warm, and had to ask for all to be refilled as there were scabby or no bits left in the trays!. We initially thought, oh £70 isn't so bad for near the centre, by the end of the stay, we wished we'd gone to the hotel down the road, at least we would have known what we were getting!
A Saturday night.
Modern hotel, room small but functional, staff pleasant particularly the maids, very helpful.
Breakfast was adequate if not inspiring. On booking in I was informed that a levy of £25.00 would be added to my card for any damage or services(ie, wine etc) provided in the room and would be credited back to my card within 4-5 days if no charge incurred. This was not made apparent at the time of booking. In my opinion I felt insulted. I can understand if we had been a stag/hen party, not a mature couple. Apart from that a pleasant stay.
Rooms could have been abit bigger
An enjoyable visit eventually!
Pendulum Hotel Manchester
Staff not friendly, didn't see until when straitening the quilt that there were stains on the sheets and no air conditioning so very stuffy, to rub insult to injury I was charged £10 for checking out half hour later than the suggested 11am
Definitely going back again
Amazing, fabulous, clean, comfortable, modern, excellent bar facility, delicious all you can eat breakfast, helpful friendly staff [reception, bar, restaurant], I would happily stay here every time I visit Manchester.
Totally exceeded my expectations. Was recommended by a friend who also had accommodation there that night.
