tired looking and disorganised on the food side

Not much of a welcome, my food order never got through to the kitchen and an hour later I had to go looking for it only to then have it given to the table next to me who ordered 45mins after me.

They then had given my breakfast table the next morning to someone else when I returned to it with my self service food. All very embarrassing. Poor communications, process and management.

Excellent all round

Stayed for one night on business.

Didn't do much and had room service food, but all in all it was pretty much faultless. Getting the shower temperature right took a bit of doing, but that was hardly a major problem.

Good Stay

Good stay and very helpful staff, room could have benefited with a mini fridge.

Shakespeare Weekend

Lovely hotel - thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful grounds and great ambiance. Bit of a rabbit warren to find your way about in and in places some of the decor could do with a spruce but this did not detract from great service, lovely architecture and overall lovely time. Recommend and would stay again.

Fantastic hotel with the best customer service ever!

A last minute booking after we got married and I have to say the best customer service I have received in any hotel.

Staff were outstanding with nothing too much trouble. Gorgeous hotel in a stunning setting. Great value for money and I would highly recommend to anyone!

Bit tired and jaded

We stayed there for a wedding, the staff were excellent and food very nice.

The main hotel is a beautiful historic building and really could do with some money spent on it - carpets and hallways look very tired and jaded. We stayed in the annex rooms away from the main building to either side of the driveway. Big room but a bit faceless really - shame. The big problem however was the awful smell (almost like leaking gas!) that filled our room - we were told this is from the farm next door - what a pity. We had to move and the hotel duly obliged and, on request, offered some compensation. Overall a very pleasant place to stay that needs money spent on it but that's easier said than done. Thanks to the staff
