Get away from it all
What an amazing hotel, great rooms, friendly staff, wonderful food and the majestic and untouched beauty of Buttermere Lake.
A hotel to get away from life and recharge the batteries. Be warned, if you need to be connected to the world then this is not the place for you. Loved every minute of our stay at The Bridge and we will be going back in the future for certain.
Cute and peaceful pub hideaway
Buttermere is away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist lake district spots and the Bridge Hotel was a gorgeous retreat.
A quiet, family run, brilliant little inn with great standard rooms and quality food and drink.
Great all-round Hotel
The staff were good at there jobs and so very friendly, we had quite a good few laughs with them.
This has got to be one of the best Hotels we have been to.
Excellent, as always
Meals in the bar as good as ever. A la carte dining superb, again. Splendid surroundings and a lucky fly-past by the RAF along the lake.
Great location ideal for walking around Buttermere and surrounding areas.
Meals in the bar were very good - often too large!!
Excellent base for a stay in the Lake District
The Bridge Hotel proved an excellent base for our stay in Buttermere.
We had come to the area for the Lakes Charity Classic paragliding competition and we chose this hotel on the basis of the reviews that we had read and personal recommendation. We were pleased with every aspect of our stay. The staff were friendly, the food excellent and the real ales spot on. Set in the majestic setting of Buttermere, the hotel is a fabulous base for walking and free flying. I'm sure that we'll be back before too long.
Superb location, superb service
From start to finish the Bridge Hotel lived up to - and beyond my expectations.
I made an on the spur of the moment decision to go away as a birthday treat and didn't expect to find hotel accommodation as good and as well placed as The Bridge Hotel. I came back to the Lakes to show my knees what they used to be capable of (recent knee surgery meant only low level walks this time) and Buttermere still has all the attributes that attracted me to it years ago. The hotel is ideally located for testing summit walks as well as more sedate lakeside walks. At the start and end of the day the meals and comfort restored the energy levels ready for something on the morrow.
All staff very friendly and polite, food excellent, a most enjoyable stay.
