Gower Golf Club with rooms
Had no interaction with staff, never got shown where anything was, private function on and we had a room right by it they had the door open so that's all we could her was banging music did ring the hotel to complain got told it would be going off at midnight and phone put down but went on after that time, never got shown into the room just got told where to go and when we got into the room it was freezing it had a portable electric heater but when you turned it off went back cold took us hours to get the radiators working when they where finally working they worked for 2hours then went off and never come back on.
Superb situation, hotel reasonable but overpriced.
The people we met were very friendly and the breakfast was well cooked and presented. Not enough choice of cereals or fruit juice though. The room was unprepared and a babies' nappy was left in the rubbish bin and never removed. Shower fittings broken and not enough clean towels left for two people. A pity really, because it is a wonderful area to stay and very quiet.
Gower Golf Club
Quiet location spoiled by golfers parking, revving engines, slamming doors, chatting etc at 7am outside bedroom window.
Room tired in need of deep clean especially shower. Only one towel ring for several towels. No bedside light. Website said checkout at 11.15, room said 10am. No breakfast times in room and noone available to confirm until 8.30am. Breakfast food excellent but room cold. This experience was below standard for £70 and cannot really be compared to a hotel; it is accommodation geared to golfers.
Breakfast was ordered on arrival for 8.30am the following day.
Nothing was prepared except cereal - no fresh coffee. After waiting half an hour having ordered a cooked breakfast I had to go in search of a member of staff and was told that the steward had had to go shopping for eggs. Unable to wait because of an appointment, I left without breakfast.
The location is very remote and there is no member of staff on the premises after 8pm. This is not a place for a single older traveller.
Nice hotel in a great setting.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty!
A lovely and relaxing stay
Needed to find a one night stay in Swansea at the last minute, when doing a Search, came across Gower Golf Club.
Know the area very well and so, were really pleased to see availability at this venue and even more delighted with the room being discounted ( this was all very last minute!!!!). Unfortunately we were unable to make the 8 o'clock deadline for check in. Phoned ahead and explained. This was not a problem at all, as we were told that someone would be available until the bar closed. On arrival we were instantly made to feel very welcome as if we had been regular guest for years. The room was, pleasant and comfortable. A fantastic nights sleep was had as there was absolute silence through the night, no traffic and no noise from other guests. In the morning we awoke to the most spectacular view right across the Loughor Estuary. Breakfast was served in the main lounge, a super breakfast. We chatted with the extremely friendly staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly visit this venue again. The rooms are not the most luxurious, they are functional and clean, Wi Fi is quick, bed comfortable, breakfast excellent and staff really friendly and extremely helpful. A great find at a great price right on the edge of Gower. We loved it.
Nice comfy bed in a lovely room in converted barn.
Quite remote so lovely and peacefull with safe parking.I'm not into golf but this doesn't matter as nice place to stay whether your there for that or not. Would deffinately stay again if needing accommodation in the area.
my stay at gower golf club
On arrival the night view was lit up by the distant lights surrounding the bays below the gower.
The grand drive way towards the accommodation went cap in hand when cheerfully greeted and checked in by the ever so helpful staff. Positive attitudes helped us relax and get comfortable immediately. The room was that of a big spacious size. I am of 6ft 1 and found plenty of room sharing the standard double bed with my partner. The one thing i would recommend is to ask staff to switch the heating on in the room a few hours prior to arrival. I think it took 3 hours for our room to warm up and with it being late feb and fairly isolated this is important to get nice and snug. Drink prices at the bar were reasonably priced and options were plenty. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and price was included in the stay. Staff managed well and food was served efficiently. Finally we got to enjoy the views the golf course had to offer before checking out.
Although I arrived very late and reception was closed, every effort was made to help and direct me to my accommadation.
Initially struggled to find staff on arrival but were friendly when we did find them.
Room was pleasant enough, good size and warm but not as clean as it should have been and not well equipped. Nice location but golf club was deserted and couldn't find anyone to check us out despite ringing the bell for 15 minutes.
