An ideal seaside venue with excellant food.

This hotel is in the state of refurbishment but still worth a visit.

It has panoramic views of sea and coastline and the food is excellent for a 3-star accommodation. The outlying areas are steeped with history and folklore and you will enjoy beautiful views and countryside at every twist and turn in the road.

good review but one problem

we have only one problem with the hotel that they did not sandwiches or light meals in the evening

after a large sunday lunch we would have been happy with small meal or sandwich not a full meal

the room was good and clean lovely large shower good staff very friendly

Pampering short break

Just wanted to say how much my wife and I enjoyed our stay with you this week.

The facelift has made a difference the ambience and facilities at the Cliff. The staff who served us and engaged with us were very helpful and courteous, especially Keith, Rhys and Tom. Both my wife and I have been struggling with our health and spending the last 4 days with you has made a big difference to us. Looking forward to being with you again soon. Once again our grateful thanks.

best west views in wales

I have known the hotel all my life and have stayed in it on and off for forty years.

the décor is much improved but the food I find poor. the menu is pretentious without seemingly a chef to back it up. Simple things like sandwiches which used to be great are now over priced and tasteless. One evening I chose saltmarsh lamb with truffled mash, aubergine caviar, wilted winter greens etc. it arrived, the lamb cooked very well, no aubergine or truffle mash. when I mentioned the omissions the mash, no taste of truffle arrived in the smallest dish I have ever seen and I was convinced in was frozen mash, which I tried once and binned it. The dish cost £17.95. Another evening my daughter and family joined us for dinner. her sticky toffee pudding had to go back, it had been over microwaved and was solid, the price for it was £6.95.

Nice Hotel and spa not enough staff to cater for the amount of people they are dealing with.

Up on arrival we were booked into an Executive room but was taken to a standard room, which you call more of a storeroom rather than a bedroom.

When I went back to the reception they agreed that we had been given the wrong room and was relocated to one of their older executive rooms, this room comprised of two single beds which when we requested a room with a double bed the maid said that all the other executive rooms were taken as there was a wedding on the Friday, and she would push the single beds together and make them up as a double which we had to accept due to no other rooms being available. (The mattresses on the beds were like trampolines so hopefully when they carry out the refurbishment of these rooms these will be changed for something more comfortable.)

There was no information pack in the room showing what the Hotel and the area has to offer. The room was sold as a partial sea view, which was true although we were looking across the main car park which was fairly noisy with the coming and going of customers. The wedding on the Friday and a Hen Party on the Saturday made the stay a poor experience with residents who had drank to much knocking on random doors down the hotel room corridor and generally making a noise. We were not made aware that this would be an issue when booking the hotel. The Breakfasts were very good and we dined in the Hotel on the Saturday where the food was very good, I did ask when booking the table if we could sit at the window over looking the sea and the receptionist did put it as a request. We booked the table for 8pm and did not sit down till 8.45 and it was not at a window position but was taken to a table by a pair of doors from the kitchen where the waiters were constantly moving back and fore, we declined the table and was shown a table in a more acceptable position but not a window view as requested, I think the reception staff needs to liase with the restaurant staff to ensure residents requests are best dealt with. Overall with every thing taken into consideration it was an average short break.

Has character

Friendly and helpful staff, not too big so as to be impersonal, and some old building character.

The bar/ lounge area being turned into a 'sports bar' type room with the obligatory twin massive TV's showing football almost 24/7 really isn't necessary . With this as the only major gripe, if you chose to stay here you would find it good value and pleasant.
