Room cleaning very poor
Have stopped at this hotel before and it has been very good, but the hotel decor is now shabby, and our room had been cleaned but to a very poor standard, had to be redone by a different member of staff.
No manager on duty at the weekend and the person on the reception dealing with my complaint was not very helpful.
2 nights stop over in york
Not to bad .
Room clean enough . Location good . But extra charge for parking . No drinking water in room . Small towels in bathroom .. very very small TV with bad reception and poor channel selection ..A under average hotel .. We would not rush to go back there .
The Queens Hotel
Second Stay at The Queens Hotel, again staff friendly and helpful and breakfast was good.
Have booked another stay in November and June
The Queens Hotel
Accommodation tired and in need of refurbishment.
Window frames dirty, bathroom bath panel in need of redoing, only two basic toiletries and you were informed if you took them they would charge you, not worth taking. No interaction with any staff could have been anybody walking in and out. Breakfast ok didn't see notice if you wanted eggs other than scrambled you had to ask, surely we should have been told by whoever seated us. No interaction with staff at breakfast as well young lad told us (sit there) that's as mutch as was said.
location Location Location
Does what it says on the tin.
Perfect location for exploring York, comfy bed, decent breakfast.
Its just a hotel, nothing special, a little bit dated, little bit grubby by anyone's standards but perfectly adequate for a night or two when visiting the city. Prime location overlooking the river and only a stones throw away from the shops and bars.
If the Queens was updated and given a lick of paint it would be a first choice but unfortunately doesn't reach the standards of even a Premier Inn.
We stayed here for its location....which i must say is the only thing worth booking the queens hotel for.
Rooms are extremely dated. No luxury involved other than the views of the river which were fantastic. Bed was unconfortable and creaky. Carpets are terrible. Windows are filthy. I paid £135 for the night for a superior room. Nothing other than the view are u paying for. Wouldn't stay again.
On arrival the receptionist was ok but when trying to get a parking space and into the garage which had to pay an extra £10 for was a bit of a nightmare.
All spaces were full and when a staff member moved their car another guest took the spot to which the staff member replied the have been here a couple of days which made me feel less important with only staying one night. The key cards to the rooms were awkward to use and failed twice. The receptionist was a bit short with my daughter when she went to ask about it. She needs to brush up on her people skills.
The Queens Hotel
The hotel is close to the city centre.
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Stayed many times before, but this time really let down with the room.
Paid £240 to be squashed in a single room that had a double bed crammed in. Such a shame as we have always previously enjoyed our stay. Reception did nothing to rectify our disappointment so unfortunately we won't stay here again.
the hotel is very central, the staff friendly and hepful , the breakfast was very good, nothing to complain about,
