Peaceful and comfortable
Just a brief one-night stay-over but a warm welcome and a very comfortable room.
Loved the peaceful surroundings. Room service dinner top-notch and a great breakfast. No time to visit the Spa. A pleasant change from a Holiday Inn or equivalent.
Birthday Present Come Early
Really enjoyed our stay.
Early birthday present to myself and what a way to spend it. Really relaxing and a great way to unwind. Great facilities. Polite and helpful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be going back at some stage. Well done to LateRooms.com for suggesting this great hotel.
requested twins but got doubles
The rooms I booked were for a group of 6 women, unfortunately I requested twins on late rooms and the hotel did not pick this up so we ended up in double beds which they could not change, We all know each other very well so managed with the aids of 3 extra duvets, but this was a disappointment because this has not happened before when booking this hotel via late rooms.
Lovely room and building, poor food.
We thought our hotel room was very good, well equiped and comfortable, good tea and coffee facilities etc.
The communal areas were nice and the building itself is very impressive. The meal we had in the restaurant was poor and overpriced. My friend's duck was chewy and my white wine was not cold enough and yet it was described as 'fine dining'. The customer service was good as they did refund the price of the duck and we were given a free glass of wine. The lady on reception was good and very pleasant to deal with. They need to address obvious problems with their restaurant and then this place would be lovely. Breakfast wasn't great either. My black pudding had been left out under a warmer for ages I think as it was really hard, I couldn't cut into it. My friend's poached egg had a runny white inside and wasn't hot. Overall, loads of potential but sort out the food!
New Hall Hotel & Spa
Perfect in every way!
Great building very poor service
Great building with great grounds, however don't eat here as the serving staff not very good and the food is way over priced for the quality of the food presented (£32 for a steak that was not cooked properly and just thrown on the plate).
At breakfast had to wait 40mins for a coffee, simply not good enough for the star rating of the hotel. Having stayed at many Hand Picked hotels this one, due to the service, was terrible.
Lovely building and setting - staff need to learn to smile
Lovely old building with plenty of character and nice grounds ( on the whole ).
Very pleasant spar. Rooms fine. Staff just need to smile a bit more with a better welcome; at times, difficult to find any staff - to order tea for example. Meals a little on the expensive side - this is not a Michelen restaurant.
Beautiful hotel and room.
Excellent food. Terrific facilities. Add to this some of the friendliest, most helpful and professional staff and you will have a terrific experience just as we did.
Beautiful grounds and amazing history about the hotel. I would definitely stay again.
