Our stay at Highcliffe Hotel Dec 2012
We only booked for one night as it was a quick family visit. The room was old fashioned but clean and done the job for one night. We never had the breakfast has £9.50 was a bit overpriced. We never see anybody having a breakfast the morning we were their. The price we paid for the night was ok but it was a deal and we would not have stayed if it had been more.

Ideal position, somewhat shabby but clean good beds and very helpful friendly staff.
Adequate menu choice and excellent breakfast.

ManagementResponse

We are delighted to hear that you had a comfortable and pleasant stay, and were well looked after. We are sorry to note that you felt the hotel "somewhat shabby" and feel that this gives a wrong impression. The implication is the building is not cared for - overall the hotel is in good decorative order and, as you said, it is clean and comfortable.

Short weekend break
A lovely hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff, they couldn't help enough. Was there only as a short weekend away break and it was just what the doctor ordered. Nice spacious room with comfortable beds. TV was on the small side but we were hardly in to watch it so not that important. Lovely views from the dining room and bar and a lovely terrace to sit and enjoy the world go by. Lovely food too with a very nice full English being enjoyed on both mornings, good quality evening food too. Overall good value for money and very well located, away from the busy town but only a nice stroll away.

Late booking
I booked this hotel on the morning of our stop over, on the way to a family wedding. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel had lots of old charm in the building , reminded me of the sort of place we stopped in as a child many years ago , it was however very tired around the edges and could benifit on some money being spent on it,( though i do realise that it probably would not viable ) however the setting was delightful ,and i would personally stay somewhere like this with charecter than one of the new sterile hotels .
