A beautiful hotel - highly recommended
We only stayed for one night and had our two little boys with us (4 & 2) and were made to feel very welcome. We ordered room service instead of eating in the restaurant as the boys were tired and we only wanted something light. It took a few trips by room service to eventually get it right with the wine not arriving until after we'd finished our meal but they were very polite, warm and apologetic so we just put it down to being one of those things. Sadly the local newsagent didn't think our Sunday racing paper was published on a Sunday so they sent a replacement which was unbelievable on their part - we'd rather have just been told the shop had run out! We picked one up on the way home instead.
Only minor mistakes though, every employee we came across were fabulous and welcoming, the breakfast was superb, we were never made to feel that the boys were any trouble (something some smart hotels do) and we will certainly return again sometime. The room we stayed in was gorgeous and ideal for chilling out in. The bathroom was lovely too, spacious and relaxing.
Highly recommend a visit.

Excellent place to relax and unwind
Really enjoyed this stay, it wasn't cheap but it felt like you got what you paid for. The standard room was really nice, with a large double bed and a sofa in front of the TV. The bathroom was amazing although slightly let down by the ceiling paper peeling a little. That's a minor issue though. We stayed in Fivehead, and struggled to get WIFI, although we coped!!
The breakfast (included on laterooms) was lovely (full English, smoked salmon or continental - mmmm). We had one evening meal, which was really nice and really expensive. We were presented with the restaurant menu, and felt too foolish to ask for the more basic one, but best to ask unless you want to spend £50 per head. But the food was exquisite.
Service was good, although they sometimes seemed a bit stretched. The Spa was great for us, we went half a dozen times in 2 days, and were the only ones there. It is small, but you don't mind for the peace. There was a steam room, sauna, hot tub and experience showers.
A really nice, relaxing break. I'd recommend to anyone - if you can afford to go!
