Croydon Park Hotel
We arrived at the hotel and the children were immediately impressed by the large and well appointed entrance. The reception staff were extremely helpful, and the parking charge of £5 a day seemed a reasonable amount. We were well directed to the room and the kids dived onto the two king sized double beds and started deciding where everyone was sleeping. The room had sufficient space for the beds and a couple of chairs and table as well as the desk/bureau along one wall. The bathroom was large had both bath and shower, but there didn't seem to be any meaningful extraction system, so when four people had showered it became very steamy. The room was also equipped with personally controllable air conditioning which due to the remarkably good weather we made use of a couple of times.
The hotel was booked for a family holiday to visit relatives near to London and also visit some of the museums and tourist attractions. The location of the hotel to the station was exceptional with only a 3 minute walk from door to door (even the kids couldn't complain!). Also in easy walking distance were supermarkets, restaurants, shopping centres etc. so pretty much everything you could need for a family stay without having to move the car from the hotel parking.
We had a couple of meals in the hotel, and both times, the staff were extremely friendly and acommodating with making changes to the meals to suit the kids. The atmosphere in the bar restaurant was welcoming and relaxing, with the meals being served promptly (although it was not very busy).
During the course of our stay, I had to report a couple of defects in our room (lamps that had blown etc.) and they were dealt with immediately after reporting before we returned to the room later in the day.
The leisure facilities seemed to be of a good stsndard, although we only used the pool. Of note, if you have small children the pool is a great temperature - nearer to bath temperature than normal pool water, although I did find it slightly too warm for doing lengths. The pool was subdivided with a secure metal barrier to provide an area approximately 60cm deep for children/relaxing and then the main pool was sufficient for a about 4 adults to comfortably do lengths without fear of collision!.

Family break in Croydon
Great hotel for getting into central London with station literally 5 min walk.
Hotel is a little tired for a 4 star but generally pretty good. Room was spacious and facilities excellent.

Comfort with a touch of luxury
If you need to be within reach of London, but don't want to stay in the big city, then this is the hotel for you. Situated a few yards from East Croydon railway station (with it's freguent trains to London and the South Coast) is has a feeling of cleanliness and luxury about it. We stayed in a fourth floor exceutive room, with all the extra perks that brings, and enjoyed the unlimited use of the Leisure Club with its indoor pool and jacuzzi, and we also dined in Oscar's Barsserie - an amazing fixed price menu through which you can eat as much you want ! Car parking is secure, though in such a well designed hotel, why oh why didn't they install a lift from the car park to the foyer ?! Highly recommended, with one exception - coach parties tend to use it as an overnight stop, and the coaches clog up the vehicular approach to to Reception, so if you are a late arrival (as we were), you may not be able to draw up outside the foyer to deposit your luggage.

Comfortable overnight
Comfortable room. Restaurant reasonable quality but buffet couldn't keep up with moderate volume of people. Hotel didnt have details of Late Room booking and booking in took long time because of this.

The hotel is very comfortable with friendly staff. Very convenient for travel to London or Brighton as it's close (3 mins walk) from East Croydon.

Not great
We were booked in for two nights , the first day we got there and first impressions was very strong smell of paint as reception was having renovations done . We went to have dinner and the main restaurant was not open until 18:30 so not very child friendly !! So they said we could get something to eat in the bar which was next to the reception and the paint fumes was too much so we asked if we could eat in the restaurant but the answer was no !!! So we ate out of the hotel . The room needed a good paint chair and bed cover had stain on it !!! Walls very thin as we could hear next doors television and chatting until early hours of morning. The next day we checked out as we could not stand another night there !!!
