Barca Highlights
Great location for train metro buses etc. Hotel excellent however breakfast a bit steep so opt for the bakery across the road. Dining experience on 23rd floor is a must with fantastic views of Barcelona and the food and service excellent ( worth the extra ) Previous reviews give worth while tips on travel to and from airport and the Gran Torre Catalunya so in fairness an accurate report on all reviews

A Gem
Just had a lovely 4 night break at this hotel.
The location was perfect, OK, it was right opposite the Main station (Sants) which would normally put us off but the area was not bad at all althout if you are easily disturbed by traffic noise you may wish to consider other options (or other cities!). The location made it great for easy transfer from the Airport (20 mins by train) and access to the whole city by foot or the very convenient Metro.
The welcome at the hotel was great, greated in perfect English (by Ana, I think), following other comments we had requested a high level corner room and were given a Corner room on the 7th floor (the highest still available for our rate).
The room was large with full windows on 2 sides, the views were limited due to only being on the 7th floor but still fairly good. 2 single beds pushed together gave the effect of a large double bed (although not ideal as still seperate sheets etc) bathroom was also large with big walk-in shower and also a bath and 2 sinks. Mini-bar was affordable but no tea or coffee making facilities. There was noise from the road below but I guess you'd be lucky to avoid this in the centre of a big city.
We didn't take the breakfast option, at 12 euros we decided to use the nearby bakeries and coffee shops for a fraction of the price. we also did't use the leisure facilites as you have to pay for them and we decided there were far better things to do in Barcelona than to sit in a gym or steam room...
On the last night we decided to treat ourselves to a meal in the top floor restaurant, we knew that this wouldn't be cheap but we love good food and were certainly not disappointed. The food was top notch, service was superb, and the view over Barcelona at night was the icing on the cake.*****
