I stayed in this central hotel as I had a reunion with some friends in Copenhagen.
I chose the hotel for it's central location and extremely close proximity to Nyhavn. The room was comfortable as was the bed, I ordered a single room. It was large enough and had free wi-fi which was fast enough. The pillow was good and I had a great sleep on both nights. A friend booked a hotel miles away and when I told him about the Hotel Martime and he too checked in a loved the place. It's not a luxury hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and very central - certainly worth the money. The staff were very helpful, and friendly. My wife checked me in for my return flight and then I forwarded them the boarding card and they printed it and gave it to me - no problem or hassle and everything was always done with a smile. There is an excellent Argentinian Steakhouse a couple of doors down from the hotel; we seem the steaks through a low-level kitchen window and went in. We were there 3 hours eating steak and drinking wine. Best steak I've ever had and this sentiment was shared amongst the group. We are a group of engineers that travel a lot so these sort of compliments are the exception and not the rule (we're fussy and picky and long-in-the-tooth), hence, another reason for the review. I hope this review helps and that any visitors to Copenhagen find this useful.
All you need for a one night stopover
Basic but clean accommodation located centrally near to the harbour.
Pleasant staff and great value for money.
Clean and functional, but rooms are very basic, more like a hostel.
Breakfast was fine and the gentleman behind the reception counter was most helpful. Pricey for what you get in the context of most European cities, but I am prepared to accept that it may have been good value in the context of Copenhagen. I would not stay here again on a business trip, but i might recommend it to someone looking for a no frills place to stay in Copenhagen,
Copenhagen is expensive!
Stayed three nights at heavily discounted rate of 69Kr.
Even so, in most European capitals one would have a far better room. This one was very small. Using the shower meant wetting the whole of the WC/shower floor, as the shower had no proper cubicle, only a curtain. I suspect, however, that this was all completely fair in terms of Copenhagen prices: I should simply have paid a lot more somewhere else to get what I wanted. Breakfast excellent, staff always cleaning up, nice people run the hotel.
Hotel is in a very good location, near the Metro (link to airport), the shopping centre (Strogit) and Nyhavn and the canals.
Good room, very comfortable and quiet, with wifi and TV
breakfast had a good cold buffet, plus a few hot items. Complimentary tea and coffee available available all day & evening.
The hotel was conveniently located. It was within walking distance of the Metro and the old city.and Nyhaven where you can cruise the city 's canals. There were no lack of restaurants, convenience stores and even a small local pub'Cafe Malmo' at the end of the street by the harbour which goes back to the 1870s.
The harbour side has be redeveloped and was pleasant to walk along on a warm Midsummers evening. The breakfast were was plentiful, there were no hot drinks facility in our room but tea and coffee was freely available through out the day.The staff were always friendly and helpful like all the Danish people we encountered during our stay.
