Great Value and very Pet Friendly!
We stayed at The Clarendon following a Lancaster University Open Day.
Our room was big enough for my husband and I, our teenage daughter and our 5 year old Labrador Retriever. The hotel was probably built in the Edwardian period and it has many period features. The rooms are clean, tidy and showers have plenty of hot water. The breakfast choice is superb with fresh fruits, pastries, yoghurts and traditional English with all its trimmings. My husband had smoked haddock and poached egg which he thoroughly enjoyed. Initially we booked a double and a single as we believed that there was no triple available. However, on arrival, the hotel willingly changed our room and adjusted the bill accordingly, saving us £30. Remember, that this is a period hotel, with the big central oak staircases and high ceilings and enjoyably different to the modern 'travel-inn/lodge style' hotels.Great value, very friendly and we will be back..
The Clarendon, Morecambe
This hotel is slightly past it's best now and is too expensive for what is on offer.
The hotel receptionists were lovely and professional, but the waiter who served breakfast in the morning was rude and thoughtless. The views across the bay are fabulous though and the hotel itself isn't wholly lacking in charm, but at £85 per double room, the hotel needs to modernize, offer wi-fi and other facilities or drop their prices.
Clarendon Hotel Stay
No WIFI in my room apart from that it was a good stay
felt very comfortable in the hotel, the staff were really nice and friendly.
I could not fault this hotel the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Accommodation very clean.
Great location for overnignt stop on our way up to Scotland, easy access from and to M6
They were changing the menu so half of it wasn't available so not sure that was the right decision.
Excellent single room!!
Usually if you book a single room, you have to pay a 'single room supplement' and you went up with a converted broom cupboard at the back of the hotel, but NOT at the Claremont!.
I got really spacious good room at the front of the hotel with a beautiful view overlooking the bay. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was good. All in all, excellent value.
A good choice
Staff could not be better and the food was great
room a little with a view of the sea, a little small but for the price, how can you complain
Short stay at Clarendon Hotei
We were allocated a suite (Room 2) with a wonderful sea view.
the accomodation was first class and the staff very friendly and helpful. We had booked for 2 nights but my wife had a fall which meant that we had to cut our stay short and attend A & E at our local hospital. We were charged for the one night only which we considered to be very fair. Will definitely return.
