Nice location
Whilst it was a really hot day, the room was airless as it was on the 2nd floor in a square area with other rooms so little air got in. Fortunately there was a large fan which I needed to have on most of the night. Incidentally, whenever I stuck my head out of the window, a Pied Wagtail attacked me as there was a nest just below my window with some young chicks. Quite cute really. The room itself was spacious and had good facilities although there was a lot of banging from other rooms nearby and I'm not sure if that was due to noisy residents or the layout of the place. The pool was not big enough for more than a couple of strokes swim and the sauna/heat room wasn't on/not working. The hotel is in a nice location and has a nice ambience. When I walked in, somewhat bedraggled, with my golf clubs, I did get a funny look from the 2 reception staff and a nice greeting would have been appreciated rather than me having to speak first but I understand I may have looked like Worzel Gummidge with heat stroke. However, on leaving the lady was very courteous.

Great staff & lovely setting
Stayed on a Sunday evening. Lovely quiet hotel. Had pool & steam room all to myself. Lovely staff made me very welcome. Ideal location for getting around all the great areas the New Forest has to offer.

the staff was very helpful and pleasant. the food in the restaurant was excellent. I just would say that the price of the room is slightly too high for this type of hotel. but I would recommend it.

Our children were on Z-beds in our room; one of which broke on the first evening. When I reported it to housekeeping they said, all the Z-beds were of a similar quality and frequently broke. They asked that I report to reception as this was an ongoing problem. My son therefore slept on the floor both nights we were there as there was not an alternative. So although a lovely hotel, I wouldn't recommend to friends until beds are sorted.
Breakfast was undercooked - raw sausage!
