relaxing break away
The hotel was very pretty very tidy and we'll kept.
It looked like everything was getting ready for BT Parties but the staff were very helpful and the room was fantastic. We only wish we has the chance to try the food at the restaurant. Next time we are in the area we will give it a go. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with very close transport links.
Royal Chace Hotel
The hotel could do with better sound proofing within the bedrooms!
2 night stay
Stayed here for a funeral recently.
Best point was room at the back of the hotel was very quiet. No traffic noise and a lovely rural view even though so close to London. Bed was pretty hard. It's quite an old place and a bit dated. Breakfast not great - dried up sausages and bacon - tho they did offer fresh fried or poached eggs as buffet ones looked so leathery. Appreciated that it wasn't over HOT. Stayed in so many hotels where you cannot turn down the heating which isn't good for the environment and makes me feel ill. Very convenient for the M25 and getting into London, so would use it for future London trips.
overpriced and out of date
having stayed here a few times for access to the hospital, i am still always unhappy when i leave, the food and wine is very expensive, then they have the cheek to add 12% or more service charge to the whole bill without asking, even when the service is poor, twice i have asked for this to be removed, and although it was done the attitude was as if i had just insulted their parents, it was taken personally.
As for the room, it is an old hotel in need of renovation, the bathroom is very small and grimy, with a toilet seat almost falling off. The main room was clean and comfortable.
Excellent staff service
The first room had suffered from one of the smokers who does not respect no smoking signs or other peoples comfort.
I was moved immediately to another room which was fine if a little dated and on the small side. But, all up a good deal via Late rooms. I would definitely stop again. Can I just say to smokers who ignore signs and safety, hanging out the window with a cigarette doesn't work even if you think it does.
Nice but pricey - food quality low
A lovely position and vey close to M25.
Nice outdoor pool and very good quality décor
Let down by the food - I found this to be well presented, but expensive and very disappointing quality. For this reason I would not return
£120 for a dark hole
Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Poor staff, greasy breakfast for £15 each and dark & dowdy & tiny room for £120. Never again.
Loved everything about it.
Keep it up :)
Not as good as usual - disappointing
I stay here a few times per year and while it's not brilliant I've always found it adequate and comfortable for a one night stay.
This time though it was disappointing - my room was quiet which was good but it was very small and felt a bit claustrophobic. The bathroom was so small there wasn't even a shelf to put anything on and it only had a shower, albeit a pretty good one, but not bath which I would have preferred. As usual the power points weren't in the most convenient of places and the lighting was so dim it was difficult to see what you were doing. I know that low lights are good for saving energy but really it is frustrating when you're trying to dry your hair or put on make-up - and of course you couldn't use the bathroom mirror easily unless you wanted to put your make-up bag on the floor. The towels were a bit skimpy and all in all it was just adequate but not good. I ate in the Brasserie and the food was good but again, as usual, it was nearly empty and had no atmosphere so you feel a bit uncomfortable (in fact the only other diner when I was there commented on this to me). Breakfast was not up to scratch either - in the guest information it suggested that if you could you should avoid the early breakfast rush, so I did and found that the hot food was dried out and not very appetising. Come on Royal Chace, you can and have done better than this !
Very Welcoming and Friendly
We had a very comfortable stay and the food was amazing.
So we'll be staying at the Royal Chase the next time we're in Enfield. But check the rates on the Hotel website since it might be better than those on other sites.
