Overbooked, very poor replacement room
The hotel was overbooked. They put me in another hotel, which was only three stars and of much poorer quality. In principle I have no problem with changes, however, Hotel Principessa made a replacement reservation on the actual day that I made the booking, they had 4 days to inform me that there was a problem. Normal procedure would have been to inform me that there is no space so I can either agree with whatever they offer or I can decide to cancel the booking and make my own arrangements. I will not use this hotel again.

Very disappointing and uncomfortable 'hotel'
This is a very very expensive B&B and not a hotel at all. There is no lobby to speak of and no room service. There is a small bar area next to the reception desk but no-one serving or using it. The hotel is modern but is decked out as a parody of renaissance with quite ghastly decor and painted walls (personal taste, I accept). There was nowhere comfortable to sit in the rooms we had and as mentioned earlier nowhere to sit downstairs either. I tried sitting downstairs on one occasions only to be encouraged to go to my room by the receptionist. This made it wholly unsuitable for family accommodation. There is no tea and coffee in the rooms which I found astonishing at the prices we paid and although there was a minibar there was no price list. A small bottle of water was 3 euros. There was no tourist information pack. It is not very convenient for the popular tourist areas and the buses are hard to understand. There is little help from reception with regards to travelling into town or buying food at reasonable prices- things that matter for a family. We did have good help from reception on one occasion but for the most part responses were churlish and we stopped asking for help after a time. There is a luggage room which we found helpful. On the good side, the ladies attending at the buffet breakfast were pleasant and would make a decent coffee upon request.
I regretted booking this hotel. I'm afraid i don't know what others are like.

A lovely friendly quiet hotel
A very lovely comfortable hotel, convenient for walking to most of the city centre. The bus stop from Termini station was a few minutes away and the nearest metro station about a liesurely10 minutes away. The desk staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with a weath of accurate local information.
The buffet breakfast was a little disappointing.
My only downside was having to pay 18 euros in tax on departure. This was not highlighted at the time of booking.
