Friendly staff, excellent bedroom and bathroom. Good situation, easy to find, peaceful.Food average.
A smaller menu would suggest freshly prepared food. The quilt on the bed was the only fault in the bedroom as it was of winter thickness and too warm for summer.

A genuinely relaxing stay.
Having watched a couple of sons participate in a nearby Tough Mudder event, we took the opportunity to break our journey back to London and stayed at The Crown of Crucis. The on-line room description lived up to its expectation ~ quiet and comfortable with a view over the river and playing fields. The restaurant food was of good quality and fairly priced. All of the staff were very amenable and accommodating.

Friendly staff although some heavily accented English was at times a little difficult to follow. Stayed two nights and ate a bar meal one night -- decent standard and good service. Breakfast buffet selection slightly limited but cooked breakfast served quickly. Out of town location with good parking. Good value at special deal price.

Good overnight stop
Room very nice overlooking stream and cricket pitch and as promised very quiet. Evening meal good value for money and well presented. Breakfast was rather disappointing considering good impressions from evening meal. Continental overpriced with cold soggy toast, uninspiring jams served in squeezy plastic containers and beware - you have to choose between a boiled egg and a croissant despite paying £9.95. Seems mean and unnecessary. Afternoon tea and cake good.

Stayed here before and still as good this time around. Staff are extremely helpful and very courteous. Lovely outlook especially from rooms overlooking the small brook. Would definitely recommend.

Welcome break
What a lovely welcome break this was. We had camped for a week in South Wales and driven across country to Cirencester. We hadn't heard of Crown Crucis and booked on the off chance for 3 nights and had a truly lovely time there.
