Would Highly Recommend!
My husband and I stayed for a weekend in November at Glenville House. It was a very relaxing stay with excellent standards of service. The hotel is situated on the main road between Windermere and Bowness with a short walk either way to each area. We stayed in a superior room which was immaculate, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. The extras such as fresh milk, sherry & home made cake & cookies were a really special touch and made the hotel stand out in comparison to other places that we have stayed. The breakfast was excellent & the owners very welcoming & friendly - we got the impression that nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a lovely stay and hope to return in the not too distant future.

Great Place to Stay
Peter and Jayne have a superb B&B, the room was excellent, breakfast was superb and the little extras that are provided without extra charge are amazing. the home made biscuits in the room along with fresh milk every day in the fridge and the decanter of sherry. also there was fresh cake left in the entrance for all guests to help themselves to. Glenville House is most definitely the first place i would call if i need accommodation in the Windermere area.

The Warmest Welcome!
The proprietors really do think about what guests need and things that they don't know they need.
For example: fresh flowers in our room, decanter of sherry, fridge with bottle of fresh milk and a bottle of fresh lemon water,i-pod dock, clock radio, flat screen TV,homemade biscuit jar, various quality hot drinks, trouser press, iron+board, hairdryer, bath robes, spa toiletries, cotton buds&cleansing pads.
These items replenished daily as needed.
At reception they had large golf umbrellas to borrow if desired.
Signage was good so you had no real need to trouble our hosts as all was clear.
In the entrance hall a large array of homemade cakes &biscuits was always on offer with a sign saying to help yourself and " have a treat on us!" They were scrummy!
Also a notice outside told us to feel free to share their garden.
Lots of local info. available including restaurant menus and reviews.
Breakfast was amazing with good choice and everything cooked to order.
Pete was front of house and so genuinely friendly and Jayne the amazing homecook.

Enjoyable Stay
Although we only stayed 1 night the welcome we received was very warm indeed. Being on the top floor & having no lift assistance with any luggage was offered but we decided it wasn't worth bringing the large case in from the car. The home made biscuits in our room & small cakes in reception added to the welcome. There was a wide choice of food available at breakfast time. We would certainly consider staying here again if we were in the area.
