ex oldfolks home
the exterior and reception area are attractive .the accomodation area is average hotel style.service was average .asked for wine from wine list at dinner to be told we,ve none left.hotel had about 16 guests and we were allocated a room as far from reception as you could get .why not offer an upgrade to abetter room when a hotel is empty.
The room was booked the week before.
described as executive room mmm!. you only managed to walk around the bottom of the bed as the dressing table area was too close. A wedding party was booked in that week end and we found out that our room was above the function room. As the hotel was fully booked we could not move rooms. The party finished at 12.00 that was earliest we could get to sleep. Not a relaxing evening/night.
The manager the next day was very apologetic and reimbursed us and dealt with it very professionally. All the staff were very helpful
Weekend at Woodlands Park
We were delighted on arrival at 1pm to find our room was ready as my husband's health dictates that he sleep in the afternoon.
However, the friend we were meeting there had to wait until 4pm for her room. Otherwise, everything was good, service, room ambience, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
a very nice hotel though the noise from the M25 was annoying, and the grounds were small.
the impression given is that it had grounds to walk through. the food and service were good. we had a nice stay
Sham about the problems but excellent customer service!
We had one of those unfortunate experiences when not just one thing goes wrong but many!.
However the customer service we received was second to none and we also got a 50% discount on the accommodation because of the interrupted sleep. We had booked into an Executive room which was very nice, but cold as the air-com was on, but when I tried to turn it off - nothing happened. I rang Reception and they came up to try but again - nothing. So whilst we had a meal the Duty Manager removed the fuse. Ahh we thought problem solved, and finished our meal, but on returning to the room we heard a strange gurgling sound - coming from the air-con of course!. Another phone call to Reception and the Duty Manager came up - perplexed, but offered to move us. He showed us 2 rooms, one big one small, and both cold. He promised to sort the heating out and we agreed to pack-up and relocate to the larger room. When we got there an electric radiator had been installed and so the room was warm, and the radiators where gurgling so we turned them both off - using just the electric one. Hooray off to bed for a good night's sleep as the bed was massive and very comfortable. Wrong - the radiators continued to gurgle intermittently all night even though they were off!. Does this hotel have some naughty ghost who keeps things on even when they are turned off?!. So I was slightly grumpy in the morning but the staff are great and the breakfast very good, so we would return.
We stayed overnight between trips to the RHS garden at Wisley and the Hampton Court Flower Show.
We chose the hotel because it was handily placed for what we needed. However, it is very close to the M25 and traffic noise can be heard from the garden, but fortunately not in the hotel. Our room was a little quirky, with a very small bathroom. However, the bedroom was light and had a pleasant view across the hotel's lawns. Everything was clean and tidy.
The star of our stay was the food. We ate in the Brasserie in the evening and service was excellent. The food was fresh, well cooked and nicely presented. Breakfast was taken in the same place and was again very good. There was a wide range of choice and food was cooked to order. It was fresh and well prepared.
