The hotel overall, was pleasant.
Upon arrival you are greeted with a large imposing house. Car park looks limited but there is room behind the house even though there is no sign to say so. We were greeted and checked in promptly and with a smile and small talk, which I don't get everywhere I go. Now as my wife and I were visiting friends with a new baby, hence the hotel, we went to theirs until late , we were duely warned to use the back . Upon reaching our room, we discovered that we had a door to the adjoining room, through which we could hear the other occupants snoring loudly. Managed eventually to get to sleep, only to be woken in the morning by them getting ready with the TV on, hairdryer, I could hear everything. Maybe it is just our room, no.8, I don't know. I think I will still stay elsewhere in future, mainly for this reason, the hotel had nothing else wrong with it.
I booked a single room.
Very clean, appeared recently decorated, but perhaps the ensuite was just a little too compact?!
We loved the hotel, the staff were wonderful, the room was gorgeous and sparkling clean.
The bed was comfy, the breakfast was delicious, the staff at breakfast were so helpful. We stayed for a wedding a few miles away and walked to get our car the next day - a lovely walk. I wish we could have stayed for longer, the hotel is special and we both stay at a lot of hotels for work - usually chains - this one stands out. Well worth staying here if you are anywhere in the area!
I was made very welcome on arrival and check in was swift and efficient.
The room was of a nice size and had a sofa which was a bonus. Lovely spacious bathroom with a decent shower and bath.
Parking was a little tight as I arrived late but workable.
The dinner menu is very limited but what I had was well cooked and nicely presented.
The staff were all very pleasant and engaging without being intrusive. I'll definitely stay here again.
Wedding stay overnight
We were late checking in and the owners couldn't have been more pleasant on our late arrival.
Bed room was well equipped, spacious with a lovely comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious and they even made up a bacon sandwich for our son-in-law who couldn't rise from his bed in time. Would stay again in the future and visit the area next time.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
The room was freshly decorated and clean. It was a little cool one morning as the heating did not come on till 7.30am but after mentioning it to the very helpful manager the next morning was fine. Breakfast was very good and of a high standard.
Home from Home
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel.
The bed was very comfortable (not always the case in some hotels), and the breakfast was excellent. Mark and Andy, who had taken over the hotel just six weeks before, could not have been more helpful. I had requested a quiet room, but in fact was given a room at the front overlooking the main road. When they realised they apologised & offered to change it for one at the rear. Nothing was too much trouble. They aim to create a comfortable hotel with a relaxing atmosphere and are certainly on their way to achieving this. . I wish them well in their venture.
I loved everything about this hotel.
what a lovely hotel, traditional rooms all well presented shame they didnt do an evening meal.
Dont go to the local curry house, its awful!
Highly recommended! All staff were attentive and friendly, and made it a pleasure to stay.
Upon arrival we were greeted and made to feel at home.
We had never visited the area before and immediately was given a map and recommendations of the nearest bars and restaurants. We stayed in the Double Deluxe Extra room. It was well presented and worth every penny!
