Does size matter?
First, the good news: the room was very clean and the whole place seemed to have been redcorated recently. The staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet-style breakfast, so you could get in & out quickly (or linger if you wanted); good selection of both cooked & continental, and seemed to be replenished fairly quickly.
Now for the bad news: my single room was tiny and on the 4th floor. No lift, but they let me leave most of my stuff in the luggage room, so I only had to take an over-night bag up. The bed had to be fitted between the walls, and if you were any taller than my 5ft 10in, you wouldn't have been able to lie in it. The washbasin was fitted into the desk/tabletop (!); you do have to have admire the ingenuity of whoever laid it out as they used everey available bit of space. The WC was so small that, as Dylan Thomas put it, you had to leave to turn around.
It was fine for my needs as I just wanted somewhere to put my head down for the night (I didn't even get around to turning the TV on). It's not a room where you woukld want to spend much time. Overall, it was good value especially at the discounted rates, and it was close to my client's offices, so I would stay again if the need arises (but not at full price!)

Good Experience - Recommended

I was spending a few days in London for a friend's birthday, and booked this at the very last minute. I was very pleasantly surprised - especially given the price. I'll be back next time I visit this friend - that's the biggest compliment I can give.

Cardiff Hotel
Just required a reasonable room to stay after a night out, and it was just the ticket. I would recommend this hotel.

Stop over going abroad
The location is perfect for Paddington as we were going to Heathrow the next day. The room was a decent size but a bit tired and needed decoration. The shower was small but the water was hot in the morning. Breakfast was good and gave us a start for the next day. Working abroad I see better value for money but at the reduced price for 2 I would probably stay there again
