christmas trip

The rooms were out dated. The cupboard handle was broke.

Bed was okay.we had dinner in the bar and it was very bland. The service was really slow. I love my breakfast but was disappointed with the variety and the cooked sausages had funny taste.

A good choice in Killarney

This was a good hotel room which was well appointed and had everything required, including a very comfortable bed.

It was within easy walking distance of the town centre. The full Irish breakfast was such a substantial meal that little or no lunch was needed. The receptionist was very helpful when I needed to leave my luggage until after lunch on the day I left. A small criticism was that the staff did not pass on a message that someone had tried to contact me by phone one evening. I would be very happy to stay at the hotel again.

Hotel very centrally located and in walking distance from city of Killarney.

making noice, but once it stopped at approx 1am I got a good nights sleep

Four star?

The hotel looks good on the outside.

The ground floor rooms and the bar. - likewise. The staff I had dealings with we're excellent. My room fell far short of my expectations. The furnishings were old and in poor condition and the television was as old fashioned. ( no flat screen and little, to no, instructions ) I was curious as to why I had an iron in my room; but had not been given an ironing board. My bed was clean and comfortable but my sleep was disturbed by the noise of a nearby fans (kitchen / air con) The fan noises persisted during my stay and when I mentioned the fan's noise to a member of staff she confirmed that it was ongoing problem. I did not wish to make a fuss about it but I did wonder if it was a previously reported problem then why had it not been fixed. My breakfast offered little meat. I felt the quantity and quality of the food fell well below 4 star. I travel a lot in Ireland and have stayed in many 3 and 4 star hotels since 2003. At best I would give the hotel 3 stars and my room 2 stars. The room is crying out for total refurbishment; or at least a lick of fresh paint. I have no plans to return to the hotel.

Our weekend in Killarney

We spent two nights here and would gladly return.

Its very quiet and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and yet they were not intrusive in any way. The food in the bar was also very good and again the bar man was very chatty and helpful. We are looking forward to our return in the future.
