very nice overnight stay
Spectacular Hotel with the need of a bit of TLC
I was first blown away by the entrance and stairway that comes with this hotel.
The staff at the reception were friendly but didn't feel they went the extra mile on customer service. Nonetheless I was satisfied and a bit mesmerized with what was to come. The hotel was tidy and clean but when we arrived at the room the 'wow' factor left. There was nothing wrong with the room but felt like it needed a bit of TLC. The room contained everything that we required was clean, tidy and well kept. However I did feel it could have done with a bit of TLC, particularly the bed. It had definite signs of wear in the form of a big dent in the mattress where people would have previously sat. I did however get a good night sleep and the bed was comfortable. The view out of the window was of another building so nothing spectacular.
The location of the hotel was perfect, very central and had parking. Only downside is that is parking cost extra to the hotel stay (£10 per night) and I found another car park cheaper. Overall a good stay.
Lovely place right opposite the castle.
Friendly staff. Evening meal choice limited for veggies but super nevertheless. Breakfast very good, good to see fresh fruit and very nice pastries for those that don't want the cooked breakfast.
The hotel is on a main road so yes there was traffic noise, this might be better if you stay in the odd numbered rooms. Room good size, with proper size TV and well equipped bathroom. Bed was a bit softer than I'd prefer but I know you can't please everyone as beds are such a personal taste. Thinking of booking return visit as god value for money with the evening meal option.
Great, easy, comfortable stay
I enjoyed my stay on the whole and it is a nice hotel.
One thing though, the internet connection is very unrealiable.
Good weekend break
Had a very nice time away staying at the hotel.
Did the booking to include breakfast and on arrival they said we had a dinner booking too. Checked our booking and rolled with it as saved booking somewhere on the Friday night. The menu was limited but what me and my partner had was very nice and we're very pleased with. Only complaint would have been the road noise outside of our room but over all good location in the centre of the city for shopping and sight seeing. Would consider booking again.
only one problem no hot water it was only luke warm.
Rooms were comfortable, breakfast excellent.
Close to city centre for restaurants, theatres and bars.
Central character hotel with ongoing updating.
We stayed to be close to the wonderful Cardiff museum and were attracted by a special offer of superior room, full buffet breakfast, and evening meal.
A problem arose with our room but the staff sorted it quickly.
Room on arrival was a pokey smelly room with just 1 very small window.
complained and moved to much nicer room with proper windows. The hotel staff were lovely, this is a great hotel for a central stay in Cardiff, great value for money but make sure you request a room with windows!
