Lovely place to stay but the CCTV dosen't cover all the car parks.
On arrival was welcomed by staff who were very helpful and explained everything we needed to know.
Found the hotel was a bit of a maze but was lovely and the room was just as nice as the pictures when I booked. Now for the bad points, The food on a morning was ok but not amazing found the food to be a cold or timid, some staff in the dining area just pushed past people at times instead of just saying excuse me which I found rather rude (one kicked the back of my chair to move it in as I was leaning over to feed my son) Was very annoyed to find my car was damaged on one morning from some unknown person but when I went reception about it. I found out even though theres signs saying 24hr CCTV there was none. So now I have a nice repair bill to pay, thanks mystery driver. If I had of known there was no CCTV in the car park I would of not parked in it as this has happened to me in the past at another hotel. I picked this hotel as it was suppose to have 24hr CCTV will be phoning hotel directly next time to find out if they have it or not. (Even though this happened the reception staff did what they could to help me) I have put yes to staying here again but would only use the hotel for the room stay after the experience it spoilt my family holiday.
I arrived late in the evening with 2 children under the age of 5 and was not offered any assistance.
Despite this, I would stay again if I was with another adult
Room could have been bigger, no hair conditioner and so far away from everything, not good if you had walking problems, Only 1 hour free wifi.
Generally good value, very efficient staff. Pool tired. Stayed 3 nights, breakfast good at the weekend but was closing down early and not as good on Monday.
Ok but nothing special...
When booking for a road trip, my girlfriend and I liked the look of the grounds and the old house and so decided to stay at this hotel.
What we weren't expecting was a tiny room, soft mattress nor the hike all the way around the hotel to get to our room. It is an ok hotel but the marketing department have done well to create an illusion... Tip for breakfast, go to the harvester!
Spacious family room, nice food
Large family room, comfortable main bed, sofa bed a little uncomfortable though ok for child, my three year old didn't notice.
Great value at the price paid!
Really pleased with the hotel, great room, grounds and food.
We were staying in block c - a long way from main building but it was ok.
The shower did not work in our bathroom and the cold water tap would not turn on. This was dangerous as the hot water was boiling. Had to use a kettle to cool the water down in the bath from the sink. It was late at night when we discovered this so too late to change rooms. Also when I booked I was told we were not allowed in a standard room with a cot and had to upgrade to a superior room to accommodate a cot at extra expense. So I booked a double and a standard for our family. When I arrived to check in the receptionist asked if we needed a cot in both rooms. When we went to our rooms the double had a cot in and the superior one did not. This sounds like a con to make you pay more for a more expensive room. There was plenty of room for a cot in the standard room. There was a large stain on the carpet in our room which looked like a yoghurt had been dropped and not cleaned up properly. The food was very good and the estate is family friendly. There is a harvester a few minutes walk away and not too far from the river. A beautiful setting overall and still had an enjoyable stay. I did not complain because every time I went to reception there was a very long queue and only 2 staff in attendance.
Nice sized room.
Nice place, but needed maintenance
On arrival the hotel looked pretty nice, well worth the money, though not at all an expensive room rate.
Staff on reception were as expected, helpful and polite. arrived in the room and was surprised not to see the sofa in there that was stated on the laterooms web page, all looked well at first.... I laid watching telly for a while before heading out to dinner (not at the hotel). bed felt comfortable. I used the shower before going out and was disappointed to find tiles loosely clinging to the wall. any more grout missing and they would have fallen off the wall. The plug hole was also blocked up. so a shower near enough turned into a bath. once i got to bed. the mattress, or should i say mattresses were a different thickness. so, far from ideal.
Breakfast was a nightmare. kids running around everywhere. not ideal when there are people walking around with hot food and drinks. this i would say is more a parenting issue than a hotel issue, but i'm sure a quiet work from the staff would have been warranted.
Had a great stay here room and food fantastic set in beautiful surroundings
We will definetly be returning
