This is a well-established hotel with high quality standards. I’m a regular visitor to Newcastle and would choose to stay at this hotel each and every time, I recommend it highly.
The only reason I’m not a frequent guest is the hotel normal rates fall outside my business budget therefore Late Rooms need to speak to the management and negotiate better rates for regular Late Room Bookers

Good Hotel but...........
This was my second stay at the Caledonian Hotel when in Newcastle for football. I booked two executive rooms for my friends and myself. We selected the hotel as there is a bar attached and has a nice night life away from the melee that is the centre of newcastle on any given weekend. There are however two big let downs which we have experienced on both occasions. Firstly the car park for the hotel is rubbish, too small and if you ask me not actually filled with paying customers, maybe staff. We had to park away from the hotel when we arrived. Secondly The "executive" rooms on the second floor are hotter than the surface of the sun! ok ok i mean it was a moderately dry and pleasant saturday outside but in our rooms it was more like being in a hotel in Bangkok without air conditioning. To add to the heat, one of the rooms had the radiators jammed on full thus two of the guys could not sleep the entire night as it was so hot!! when we brought the subject up with the receptionist she merely laugh about it and brushed over the subject. Her customer service was as accommodating as the hotels car park! What a shame considering it is a nice hotel!
