Relaxing and affordable

Enjoyed everything about my stay - went to another hotel in North Devon which was more expensive, and was no where near the quality of the Dartmouth

Highly recommended, can't wait to stay again

I have already recommended this hotel to friends, great accomations with added the added bonus of beautiful spa, amazing food which is great value for money and lovely surrounds.

Good for golfers, overpriced in some areas

I found the hotel room a decent size, very clean, nice tv and well done out shower room.

It reminded me of a Travel Lodge room, but more upmarket. We didn't eat in the restaurant/bar as the prizes were too steep. A quality pint being over £4. In nearby Totnes we ate a Sunday carvery for £5.95, which is amazingly reasonable.

The highlight of our stay was the small-ish indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. There is also a very hot steam room and sauna. This was relaxing and felt like there was a hint of indulgence. For extra treatments bring a large wallet. For golfers there is a championship golf course which looks stunning. For non-golfers like ourselves the overall experience was satisfactory but not quite what we were expecting. I think the flattering photos on Laterooms, especially of the exterior gave an extra shine which the reality didn't deliver. Also had the prices for food and drink been lower we would have stayed in, instead of driving of annoyingly narrow roads which was creepy at night to try and find a county pub. Best stick to the main roads and head to towns.
