The staff were very helpful and accommodating
Highly recommended, can't wait to stay again
I have already recommended this hotel to friends, great accomations with added the added bonus of beautiful spa, amazing food which is great value for money and lovely surrounds.
Good for golfers, overpriced in some areas
I found the hotel room a decent size, very clean, nice tv and well done out shower room.
It reminded me of a Travel Lodge room, but more upmarket. We didn't eat in the restaurant/bar as the prizes were too steep. A quality pint being over £4. In nearby Totnes we ate a Sunday carvery for £5.95, which is amazingly reasonable.
The highlight of our stay was the small-ish indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. There is also a very hot steam room and sauna. This was relaxing and felt like there was a hint of indulgence. For extra treatments bring a large wallet. For golfers there is a championship golf course which looks stunning. For non-golfers like ourselves the overall experience was satisfactory but not quite what we were expecting. I think the flattering photos on Laterooms, especially of the exterior gave an extra shine which the reality didn't deliver. Also had the prices for food and drink been lower we would have stayed in, instead of driving of annoyingly narrow roads which was creepy at night to try and find a county pub. Best stick to the main roads and head to towns.
We were a little early but the receptionist was fairly jobs worth and said we couldn't check in before 3pm but didn't check if any rooms were ready.
I feel that it wouldn't have been difficult to check if a room was ready so we could check in as we had driven a long way. We also were not told we were not supposed to walk on the paths of the golf club and were treated to a very rude man telling us off. Although the hotel was fine and the rest of the staff were helpful this initial attitude left a bit of a bad taste.
Dartmouth Golf Hotel Comments
Hotel staff and accommodation very good, very clean, staff were polite and looked after us well.
Food was good. We will recommend the Hotel and Golf Club to our Golf society.
Modern clean accommodation with very friendly staff that made our stay.
Food good & very reasonably priced. Fridge & iron in room would have been nice though.
Five out of ten
Never slept the first night, the room was hot and stuffy one window that only opened three inches it was situated close to the kitchen and the kitchen extractor fan was running all night with a loud droning noise, I closed the window but it did not make a lot of difference, and then the room got really hot and I started to sweat profusely so I had to open the window and the door(which I wedged open with my suitcase) I packed ready to go home the next morning, but after long discussions they moved me to another room away from the noise.
The food. I've had better food and more of it at a back street café and at a fraction of the price. This hotel is only good for a group of golfers with plenty of money. As my tick below group of friends (Golfers)
