Value for money.

Nice clean well equipped rooms but very stuffy so you need to open the windows but then its quite noisy outside so get a back bedroom.

Booking in was a bit long winded and the evening staff seemed a bit bored!. However, the morning staff could not of been more friendly and helpful. Overall was good value for money if you want a cheap stay.

Good customer service but poor quality room

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was clean but very old fashioned and crying out for modernisation. It was a hot period and the only way we could regulate the temperature of the room was trying to jam open the poorly operating windows and by using a fan which we were given by Reception.

A terrible nights sleep!

Room was horrendously hot which meant a terrible nights sleep.

Lots of traffic noise as on a busy main road made worse as we had to open the windows. It was so much cooler outside i considered sleeping in the car. We asked if they had a fan and were told that they had all been taken and should have asked earlier as we missed out. Rooms are ok and a good size. Staff were pleasant enough.

Falsely Advertised

Having previously booked hotels on laterooms I have always been impressed with whatever advertised on the website, more often than not being pleasantly surprised when arriving to check in.

In this instance however, the Chace Hotel was nothing close to what was advertised. Whilst the building front is displayed as an old stately home, in actuality this building is home only to the hotel bar and restaurant. The bedrooms are in a separate building behind the main feature, more akin to a concentration camp. Rooms advertised on the site are well decorated with a fireplace and considerable charm - upon arrival however we were greeted with a dark, dingy room with a broken bathroom door, a window that only opened 2 inches and no air conditioning. When asking at reception for a fan, we were told they are not provided. This didn't exactly make for a comfortable nights sleep on the hottest day of the year.

To it's credit, the hotel's entrance area was in fact pleasant, as was the bar area. Sadly, this was not enough to warrant redemption, and as such the overall experience was an unpleasant one.

There are far better hotels in the area; the Chace hotel is not recommended.

Hot room

The hotel is pleasant and set in nice gardens and good value for the price, bathroom was well worn but functional, but something needs to be done about the ventilation of the rooms, although it was a very hot day the room was unbearably hot, even in the night when the temperature dropped considerably due to the small low opening window in the main room which was set back in the castellated outside wall and a tiny window in the bathroom the temperature was incredibly hot as there was no airflow despite a pleasant breeze outside.

An electric fan or installation of air conditioning is an absolute must. it was hotter than my room in a recent stay in Greece!

Arrived late Saturday afternoon - Wedding party in progress but hotel service unaffected.

Restaurant service excellent, and at breakfast our room number was remembered. Desk staff efficient and very helpful. Good location, would stay here again.
