Great for a few night to get away on a budget.
I had read the reviews on Late Rooms and was sceptical.
However, I had to put it in context.
I did a last minute booking and still got a single room for less than £50 mid-week.
The receptionist was polite and I was informed on my arrival that breakfast was included. However, I had to be up and out by 5.30 am (so i lost out). For price and location, I would have given this a 4.5, as the bed is comfortable, sheets clean, tidy facility in general.
The let downs are as follows:
- Very steep stairs. Single rooms are located on the fourth Floor (8 landings)
- Dated decor that appears to have weathered a-bit
I would use it again, even as a base for weekend stay in London, but do not expect silver service.
Great Customer Service.
Poor Stay Victor Hotel
My stay at the victor hotel was poor to say the least and not value for money.
I was offered a basement room not knowing this until I arrived and was noisy all night being below street level and next to what seamed the goods entrance. poor nights sleep. Breakfast not served until 7:30, however after pressing staff they offered some breakfast at 7:10. Said I had a poor night but they confirmed that the basement rooms were not the best in terms of sound proofing. Also messed up my credit card booking - only put right after several calls to and from the hotel.
Value for money
Had a late check in I emailed that I was running behind and they swiftly replied to say that someone would be there to check me in.
Excellent value did money breakfast times could of been available a little later
No value for money
I paid 530 € for 2 nights in a little room under the attic, 4 high, no elevater.
Wifi hardly working and very slow ,
Rooms in desperate need of refit. Very friendly staff couldn't help my anger of such a ripoff.
Very poor condition, needs a lot of improvements to decoration
Neat and small
Stayed 2 nights.
One Indian and a blonde woman receptionist - very nice and helpful people.
The Egyptian receptionist said he had no way to weigh the lugguage. And gave us a room on the lower floor though we wanted on the ground level as had 4 huge bags. The India guy really helped us get bags up and also gave me a weigh machine to check the weight for my airline travel. The blonde woman was very kind to help me with cab bookings and suggested me ways to go to Heathrow.
Room was very clean. Washroom clean.
Bus no 24 goes right from the front door. To Victoria and to Piccadilly circus. 24 hours.
The breakfast - just bread and croissants and juice, coffee, banana orange and cornflakes.
Would've loved some eggs or cold cuts.
The room is small but that isn't too much of an issue. We were fine.
Walk to Victoria station is not short specially with luggage.
All in all.. Very happy with the place. Would recommend to all. Anyway better than Holland court hotel in Kensington where we dared to stay earlier. Terrible place.
Mid week break
The hotel was nicely situated, easy to find and close to tube and bus travel.
The staff were very helpful and friendly . We had a choice of rooms when we arrived one on the top floor and one on the ground floor, as I was with my 70+ aged mother we chose the ground floor one next to reception. It was surprisingly quiet. We had a very pleasant stay thank you.
Reception Staff very pleasant (Kete a young lady from Estonia) and jovial.
Breakfast Staff did the job but like the breakfast very basic due I believe to language differences. Room Service ensured clean towels and T / Coffee replenished each day. We stopped here for 2 nights (9th & 10th Feb 2015) last week and found it quite enjoyable and only minutes from the coach / rail stn's of Victoria. Our stay in London was enhanced by having a stay in this Hotel and our next visit we will no doubt stop in the Victor Hotel again
