Reviews - Best Western Brighton Hotel

3AA Assessed Hotel Ratings explained
143-145 Kings Road , Brighton, BN1 2PQ
The Best Western Brighton Hotel is a stones throw from the seafront & beach in the heart of Brighton. Opposite the famous West Pier and bandstand you can enjoy the panoramic views across the English Channel. The hotel location is an ideal base to enjoy all Brighton has to offer on minutes walk away and great for a short break or long weekend. A grade 11 listed building, the Best Western Brighton Hotel was once three magnificent private residences. Nowdays the single building stands as one of the oldest hotels in Brighton dating back to 1854.

In 1973 a scene from Carry on Girls was filmed in front of the hotel. With so many years history to its name, the one constant is the excellent service and attention to detail. Come and see for yourself.

On Brighton’s seafront promenade, this hotel offers elegant interiors and scenic sea views, 15 minutes’ walk from the Royal Pavilion. Cooked breakfasts are served, and free Wi-Fi is available.

Bright and warmly furnished, each room includes a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Rooms include a TV, ironing facilities, and tea and coffee. Some rooms also offer lovely sea views.

Brighton Rail Station and the boutique shops of Brighton Lanes can be reached in a 15-minute walk. Brighton Pier is 20 minutes away on foot, while Brighton’s central shops, clubs and restaurants are 15 minutes’ walk away.

The stylish bar serves a wide selection of drinks in relaxed and informal surroundings.

There is charged parking in front of the hotel and it is based on a first come first served policy. Guests can only book spaces on arrival.

Mmmmm on the whole not bad id say for my purpose
I say not bad for the purpose of my visit, as I were just having a one night stopover in the city.
On arrival at the hotel, there were a short delay before someone came to the front desk, everything were fine on check in. The only bit about my check in I found annoying was the payment. I wished to pay by cash, £65 only to be told that they have to take a swipe of my credit or debit card for security purposes then upon checkout in the morning they would charge my card 1p then refund the 1p. So clearly you can only book this hotel if you can only make payment by debit or credit card. It just so happened I had cash I were wanting to use rather than banking. However it would be so inconvenient that policy for anyone who does not own a debit or credit card, although the majority of people do.
However I do have to say that quality of room was perfect, lovely and warm. Very good and perfectly working lift to move around the hotel at great ease. Shower was excellent, and perfect quality and quantity of tea and coffee making facilities.
Breakfast time .....a little bit slap dash id say. Arrived got a seat and table, were offered a coffee which I took. although had to go to buffet table for the milk. About 10 mins later I got asked what I would like, then within 5 mins my order were at the table, so a bit like one extreme to the other. The toaster leaves a lot to be desired, toast does not always clearly pop out and you have to end up putting your fingers inside which can be quite dangerous.
Bonus for coffee lovers though, the filter coffee they serve is delicious and the waitress comes back on a very regular basis asking if you would like some more coffee.

Shocking
Damp walls, insect traps under the bed, loose plaster hanging from the wall where the TV had been pulled off by a previous guest, stained floors, dirty cracked tiles, I could go on and took photos of it all. I complained and got an upgrade but I wouldn't have let my dog stay in the first room. This is not what I have come across during previous business stays at other Best Westerns. Avoid at all costs

Very pleased with room, excellent view over looking sea. Very good value for money, would recommend. Only criticism, walls little thin, could hear people snoring in room next door.
