4AA Assessed Hotel Ratings explained
1-8 Russell Square , London, WC1B 5BE
When you’re visiting the capital you need to be in a location that’s close to everything and has all the facilities you need at a great four-star price. Hotel Russell in Bloomsbury gives you just that. We’re walking distance or a short taxi ride from Euston, St. Pancras and Kings Cross stations and next door to Russell Square tube station that takes you to Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square in minutes. Guests can also enquire at reception for 50% discount at Bloomsbury car park.

Steeped in history and heritage, a refurbishment means that behind the historic façade, most bedrooms, meeting rooms and the bar have all the modern amenities that you need to make your stay memorable.

Business guests and short break visitors alike are conveniently located to get around the city and can easily enjoy a theatre break, the British Museum, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul’s Cathedral or Harrods, as well as many more of the nearby central London attractions.

After a busy day, there’s just enough time to unwind in the Tempus Bar with a chilled glass of wine or steaming pot of tea. Our Tempus Restaurant is also a must for a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Great hotel for trip to London
The Russell is a large hotel with a quality feel as soon as you arrive , part of the Principle Hayley group which we have stayed at one before and was pleased again this time. Got a good price so we upgraded for about £10 / £12 extra and the room was fabulous on the 5th floor and at the front but not a bit of noise. I wouldn't say it was cheap but this is London so relatively speaking this was a good price. Breakfast as always these days is an extra but book it when you arrive and get it a bit cheaper, buffet breakfast but everything you would need. The good thing for us is that it's less than a mile from Kings Cross station so a good walk which saves a taxi if you don't have too much luggage. Got a nice bar too for a nightcap etc. would definitely come here again when coming to London

Fantastic hotel in a very busy location.
Lots to do in Russell square area which is a close walk to Covent Garden and Soho. This hotel is very close to the British Museum too. If you visit the British Museum be sure to pop into the Museum Tavern across the road for a drink.

The "Grand" Hotel
Arriving at the Hotel, I was surprised how big and overwhelming it was. Very impressed with the internal décor and lobby and would recommend this hotel if you got a cheap deal. It is located in an ideal part of London accessible to central tourist areas and close to the station.
The room was 2 double beds and very big and spacious with a child. The beds were incredibly comfortable and I would use this hotel and recommend this to any one. The history of the hotel dates back 120 years and if you like traditional décor then you will be impressed with this one. Lovely bathroom and furnishings and worth an overnight stay.

Last minute trip away
Beautiful, grand hotel in an excellent location. The room was large and very clean. I was at the end of the hallway so didn't get the noice others had complained about. The location is great; 5 mins from Kings cross.
