handy for where I work, but no gym no as hotel closing down

I have stayed here a few times and it has been fine.

food decent and rooms reasonable. I always liked the gym as there are not that many hotels of that price range that have them, but unfortunately when I booked in, I was told that the hotel is closing in 5 weeks so there is no pool or gym available now. It would have been good to know this before I arrived and can't recall seeing anything through laterooms to state this at the time.

Visit for Christmas market

Very disapppointed with quality of the room.

There were chips out of the bath, dirty shower curtain etc. This room desperately needs upgrading. I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The food was also excellent. What a shame the room let it down.

A good base at a good price

This hotel had everything we needed.

One of the few locally with a nice little swimming pool. The breakfast was good and staff were pleasant but didn't offer more coffee /toast unless you made a point of asking.

Our room was a good size, had a bath and shower also a hairdryer so we had everything we needed. Would stay again as clean , comfortable and pleasant.

A good base but not much atmosphere.

Friendly hotel

Stayed here due to attending a friend's funeral in the area, friendly welcoming staff, especially Teresa and Pedro who could not have been more helpful.

Breakfast very good and the bar snacks were excellent. Comfortable rooms. Only downside is the proximity to the railway. Not recommended if you are a light sleeper. However they only disturbed us in the night when awake I don't think they actually woke us.

Not A Very Nice Hotel

Rooms stank of paint, were very dated and not very pleasant at all.

Gym had a leaking air con unit with a bucket catching the drips and black mould surrounding it, i paid £80for the privelege of staying here but would not return even at £8 a night!

booked twin room, given two singles

I booked a twin room, clearly shown on paperwork.

On checking in around 6pm young girl said I had booked two rooms and she had two booking sheets. When i showed her my booking she asked the other girl who said we had been given two adjacent single rooms instead. After we insisted that we wanted one twin (or a double room} as per booking she finally spent ages on the computer before giving us a room containing one double and one single bed. Two single rooms instead of one is not an acceptable alternative. The paperwork for this had already been prepared and we were even told we would not be charged more for having two singles.

The room was okay but on trying to shower, which is in the bath, the cold tap was so stiff I couldn't turn it on. My husband had to repeatedly knock it hard to shift it. I had to leasve the cold tap running so that he was able to shower, as the hot was far too hot on its own. To turn it off afterwards he then had to spend ages knocking it again.

The breakfast was the only good part of the stay.
