Beautiful beyond words.
My partner and I stayed for the night in a deluxe room which had its own private patio.
A free bottle of wine was left in the room for us, which we enjoyed under the sun on the patio furniture. The grounds are stunning, we had an enjoyable stroll around them. The jacuzzi was a wonderful experience and the staff were all very friendly. The only downside was the couple that were in the room next to us; they were very rude, knocking on the wall whenever one of us let out a slight laugh, and ironically their snoring and coughing kept us up. We look forward to staying at the hotel again soon!
A Trip to the Peaks
We booked this weekend break at short notice everything as described was found to be true.
Staff very helpful and efficient breakfast was up to PH high standard, room well proportioned and fitted out, charming grounds even in February location good for our needs wishing to visit the high peak area , Bakewell and Chatsworth. If the Sheffield city roads were as good as the Kenwood the city would be all better for visitors beware of the thousand's of potholes & poorly maintained road surfaces in the city!
Great hotel for a short break
Clean and well presented. Very comfortable large double bed. Beautiful grounds and gardens. Would be great in summer. Very good spa with warm pool, sauna and steam room. There is also a gym although we didn't use this. Excellent all you can eat breakfast. Good restaurant within the hotel. Very friendly staff. Cons: Rooms could do with a little decorative TLC. But not a big issue for us. There is a fairly large car park but we still couldn't get on it when returning late. Easy parking on the street just outside the hotel though.
Only one moan
Staff were full of smiles no matter what time of day.
George the spa man was so helpful concerning my disability. He was happy to impart his knowledge of Sheffield & which treatment to use to relieve my pain. I had only one thing to moan about- on the evening of our arrival I went to run a bath. It filled slowly, so I sat down in the room for a bit. I climbed in the bath & went to wallow in the bubbles. As they dispersed, to my horror, there were black bits & hairs all around me. I mentioned my findings to the receptionist & was promised the bath would be cleaned. Unfortunately that never happened.
But all in all I had a great time, with beautiful scenery, helpful, happy staff, good food & wonderful spa treatments.
Excellent location; generally high quality provision.
Only downside was the bar lacked many drinks as there had been a wedding the previous weekend.
Lovely location within walking distance of city centre
Overnight stay - extremely polite and helpful Reception staff - rooms were ready early which was a bonus.
One excellent sized room with sitting room area, 2nd room good size no sitting area. Easy 20 minute stroll into city centre, taxi back £6. Rooms were spotlessly clean, a little dated but that's not a problem. No noise from adjoining rooms (hotel was full), and reasonable power shower. Excellent breakfast and good waiting staff in restaurant. Beautiful grounds, and hotel set a a good area of the city with large period properties in surrounding roads.
Not the best hotel I've ever stayed in!
The room was not what I paid for.
I paid the price of a deluxe double and got a superior double. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was both extremely expensive and lower than pub grub standards. Room service was also a ridiculous price. 1 pizza, 1 fries and 2 pints of lager, £32!!. They added a £5 tray charge that was not on the menu. The bathroom was extremely tired and dated and each time we used the toilet it had to be flushed 3 times. We were not very impressed at all with our stay.
Enjoyed my stay very much.
Its a wierd thing but we had about 10 ladybirds in our room.
Nicely appointed room in a very convenient part of the city.
