Dated and run down hotel.
Broken lights in corridor, lift not working then the serviceable lift was faulty.
The hotel did not send engineering to fix it. Hotel needs upgrade, dated decor and smells unclean.
Smelly, flies, and a small bed
My friends had to move rooms due to flies in their room.
To be fair, this was handled quickly and professionally. A second group complained of smells in their room which, tough unpleasant, weren't room-changing. Me. Room was clean, presentable and quiet. The bed wasn't great though. Oh, and for £80-odd a head, absolutely not worth it. I've stayed here before for much cheaper rates. But this weekend ..... Oooof
Britannia Nottingham City Centre
Parking in the area is very expensive (£17) for 5 hrs - 24 hrs.
For that reason, I cannot recommend staying here.
Moths, flies and moths again
The room was tired in places (especially the thread bare carpet).
This wasn't a problem for the price. However, we were disappointed to find after a late arrival that the TV had no signal and there were moths in the toilet, bath, ceilings and even in the bed. After it took 45 minutes to get checked in we weren't confident that we could have a swift change of room and so settled in for the night. We had taken photos as evidence to speak to a member of staff the following day, though when we went to check out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay or even had the courtesy of a goodbye. Needless to say, our first experience of a stay at a Britannia hotel may well be our last.
Shabby and uncared for
The room was large, at 1st glance w thought it was lovely.
However on looking closer, it wasn't the cleanest. There was hair all over, especially the bathroom. Bathroom floor had tracks in, rubber shower mat needed a scrub, hooks broken off bathroom door, lifts has rails missing and initials and names etched into walls. Later at night, it got really cold, so we called by reception. Apparently the heating doesn't work. After requesting something, we were given a broken heater, minus 1 of the feet. Shower was a dribble of either scolding hot or freezing cold, no in-between. Certainly was what I expected for 180 for the night. (Travelodge at 40 would have seemed luxurious!).
The room was a bit poor
The room was poorly, the bathroom silicone areas were black, the lamp light was falling apart, my sheets were stained.
No soap, no heating, no hot water, damp towels, insufficient bedding, draughty windows & dirty carpet all of which resulted in a sleepless night.
To cap, no one from the hotel would take ownership of the problems and attempt to rectify the issues. Incidentally, these issues were also experienced by other residents, some of whom changed rooms several times alas to no avail.
One night stay
If you looking for a cheap hotel in Nottingham, this is it.
Not the best quality, shows its age but functional. Room was warm, tidy with a nice view on Nottingham at night. Downside, only 6 channels on tv, no wifi in rooms. Please remember to add about a ten pounds overnight parking to your budget.
Room not too clean Furniture chipped and marked , very shabby Bath fittings rusty - (not very hygienic) No wifi in rooms - as on a business trip no privacy using laptop in public areas
Even the Britannia hotel sign on the building - half the letters were missing - that said it all for me.
