Reviews - Westminster Hotel

2Visit Wales Assessed Hotel Ratings explained
11-12 EAST PARADE , RHYL, LL18 3AH
Westminster Hotel is Rhyls largest & premier hotel, positioned on the seafront, adjacent to the main shopping centre and all promenade attractions. Having been sympathetically restored to its former glory, but still offering fantastic value for money. All public areas no-smoking but some smoking bedrooms still available if requested. All bedrooms fully en-suite, entrance ramp & passenger lift. 24hr access, so late check-ins are no problem. Fully licenced bar open daily until 2am. Outside patio seating area with smoking & no smoking areas.

Ideally based for touring North Wales and Cheshire. Under family ownership, a large hotel retaining the personal touch. Limited hotel car parking, (sorry we are unable to reserve spaces) but plenty nearby. National Express drop off, right opposite the Westminster and the railway station is a 5 minute walk away. Large groups welcome. Visit Wales 2*

Breakfast can be booked on arrival @ £7.50 per adult, £5 per child aged 3 - 15 years. Stay 3 nights or more and breakfast is reduced to £5/£3. (must be taken on each day of stay to attract discount) Credit/debit card details are taken to hold the room/s only, payment is made by card or cash on arrival. Any arrivals after 6pm will have the first nights charge deducted, from the card details given. If we fail to secure funding or the card declines for any reason, the bedroom will not be held when the hotel is full.

* PLEASE NOTE * bank holiday weekend bookings that include the Saturday or Sunday, must be a minimum of 2 nights.

Disappointing- accommodation shabby
Certainly no luxury in our room.
No hot water to shower in the morning,
Too expensive for standard of room.

deserves another star
Good location, good clean rooms, we only had breakfast but that was good. This hotel deserves more than 2 stars the only thing letting it down is the creaky floorboards and a little updating of the decor but in general it's a good hotel with friendly staff

Great location
only stayed for 1 night and didn't have breakfsast, however the room was great, the bathroom was recently refurbrished and the beds very comfortable, would have liked to have stayed longer as you get free breakfast with stays over 2 nights, the food looked very good in the morning. located on the promenade at Rhyll its a great base for a longer stay, small car park at the rear, however there is tons of cheap parking on the front, if we were staying longer would have liked to have a small table in the room as there was ample space for one. Great hotel would definately return here.

Westminister
I stayed there but to be honest I'm glad it was for one night only. The room and the hotel I'm afraid to say are in need of completely refurbishing it's 2014 and people are paying good money to stay. The hotel needs serious investment but can understand it might not be cost effective. I stayed in room 79 the bed was lobsided and squeaked and creaked loudly just by sitting on it . The shower was a joke there was a sign to tell you to run the tap to draw water into the ensuite before you could use the shower. It took over half hour to get the temperature right before you could shower. So a five minute shower took 40 minutes. The staff were excellent. The hotel in this day and age leaves a lot to be desired.
