A very comfortable bed, just wish we'd had a better view from the room, kitchen bins weren't so picturesque 😕 Grounds were lovely, would like to visit again in the summer.
Wroxall Abbey Estate
We was put into a standard room and after finding out the jacuzzi didn't work in the bath and the bath was dirty when we got there.
We told reception & they contacted the manager who was very helpful and very polite who moved us rooms and put us in the honey moon suite. Me and my partner was over the moon. The room was absolutely beautiful. Even though the other room was beautiful also. The staff was very helpful and I would 100% recommended staying here. It's a amazing place to walk around to.
I booked the hotel relatively last minute.
I looked it up online and it looked great. When we turned up it was even better than we expected. The hotel is beautiful and is set in an outstanding area with amazing views. I don't think the photos on the site actually do this place justice. Staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you. The spa was great as well. Plenty to do in the surrounding areas. Warwick castle was a great day out. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.
A lovely romantic break!
Hotel in very beautiful surroundings, staff pleasant & helpful.
Very very disappointing
Probably one of the worst places I've ever stayed.
Gym consisted of a broken treadmill broken bike seat, a cross trainer and a rowing machine.
Dirty child nappy on the floor in the gents changing room for 2 days.
Air con not working in the room despite 3 calls to reception
Stairway through our ensuite for the rooms on the next floor very noisy. Tried to book some beauty treatments but no call back despite it closing early.
Card access to the gym always broken. However you just needed to walk outside as the external door to the spa was always open. All in all a very disappointing stay what was suppose to be a nice period hotel that clearly is very tired.
Great Value & Lovely Hotel
Check in was fine and seamless at reception, we booked dinner for 8:30, we asked at the reception for directions and was told to wait in the bar and a member of the staff would approach us to confirm our choice of the menu, there were 2 lists of evening meals to suit cheaper dining or a la-carte, at 8:50 with various staff coming and going from the dining room i made the barman aware of our booking, he took out order and told us the dining staff show us in when ready, at 9:05 we eventually got to sit at our table, we had a lovely meal and couldn't fault the waiting on staff, i would definitely stay again but would point out that there seams to be a communication breakdown between the dining staff and the bar staff, there didn't seem to be any organisation, just needs a tweak.
This is a lovely building in very fine grounds, in a lovely part of the country, near to National Trust properties and very good village pubs.
Our room was basic , but ok - if a little 'tired'. But the hotel has a lovely terrace, a nice lounge, and a very good pool, so met our needs. The staff at reception were not especially welcoming. In the bar and restaurant they were rather disorganized, but we enjoyed our one evening meal there. ( Our meal at a nearby award winning pub was much better ). Altogether it was good value, but such a lovely place deserves a little bit of a facelift and better management and then it could be a truly wonderful Country House Hotel.
The only thing that lets this hotel down is the breakfast.
There was enough for only 1 person to have fresh fruit. The orange juice ran out and the cooked food was just warm and had been in warming trays for a long time. The evening meal was fantastic, pity they don't cook breakfast to order.
Friendly and comfortable
Stayed one night in April.
A lovely homely, extremely friendly hotel. The staff were superb. Friendly and helpful . Food was excellent and standard of bedrooms very good. Beautiful grounds and spa. Only complaint was we would have stayed longer in the bar/lounge area after dinner had the fire
Beautiful grounds and building, just don't eat here if you're in a hurry
The building and surrounding grounds are beautiful and the staff were very pleasant and helpful upon arrival.
My room, in particular the bathroom, was a bit on the compact side, so was a struggle at times. Perfectly nice and clean, though, and this would have been a small price to pay to stay somewhere so idyllic. However, the whole experience was very badly let down by the service in the restaurant. I placed my order and was told that it was a busy time and there would be a 15 minute wait on food, which seemed fine. I was told I'd have to sit in the bar and wait for a table in the restaurant. After a total of 40 minutes waiting, and watching some couples get led through immediately upon placing their order, I told them to cancel the table, grudgingly paid for the drink I didn't particularly want in the first place and drove to another restaurant. If there's going to be such a long wait for a table, tell the customer!. And, especially, don't allow people to jump the queue without explanation. This destroyed the experience for me, as I ended up eating much later than I would have liked and it's a bit of a trek to other restaurants in the area. I'm afraid I won't be staying again, which is a shame.
