The Royal Oak Hotel
Lovely hotel in a beautiful location.
No hesitation in recommending it.
Pleasant stay in a good location for exploring Snowdonia.
The hotel is traditional, clean and generally well presented.
The Superior Double room was reasonably sizeable, but the mattress was incredibly hard so we had a rather disturbed nights sleep. Our room was on the first floor, and there was no lift available, so those with limited mobility would find the hotel challenging. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We stayed in a spacious room at the back of the hotel so there was no road noise.
There was some noise on two of the three evenings we stayed since there was live music. This ended quite early so didn't detract from the stay.
The bathroom was large with a ful size bath with shower and no shortage of hot water which was welcome after a day in the hills getting wet. Breakfast was very good and part of the price, we ate in the Stables bar which has a good choice for an evening meal, and lots of it. Staff are friendly and efficient, this is the fourth time we've stayed here and the second this year. There is a drying room/ bike store and a bike jet wash out the back in the car park, ideal after a muddy ride in the mountains. There were no car parking issues even at the height of the season since you're issued with a pass for the Pay and Display car parks located to the front and rear of the hotel.
We could not fault the hotel,it was excellent.
Rooms and staff were fantastic. Cleanliness was exceptional,as was the hotel food...
We really enjoyed our visit to The Royal Oak Hotel although we were only booked in for one night on a Friday, as we were travelling through Wales, which we love.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the food was very good. The only criticism we had was that our bedroom was directly above The Stables Bar and there was a duo playing guitars, and singing very loudly and not sounding very much in tune. However, they did not carry on much later than 10.30 pm and it would not put us off visiting The Royal Oak again. We would just ensure that we were well away from The Stables Bar!!
Quite expensive but great location and staff very efficient.
Mostly fine, although room not serviced brilliantly and very mean with one hot chocolate and shower soaps not replenished.
One day we didn't even think the room hade been serviced at all and it had, apparently. Staff at reception great and very efficient.
